On 03/10/2026 at approximately 0930 hours, I responded to 1028 West Bay Street for a reported sexual assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, I made contact with the reporting party, Ms. [VICTIM #1].
She explained that she works as an employee for the El Cheapo gas station at the above address. She explained that she was working on restocking the shelves and bent over to place products on the lower shelf. She stated that while she was bent over, a male who was in the gas station (Mr. Andrea Wright) inappropriately touched her.
I observed security footage of the incident while I was on scene. The security footage showed Ms. [VICTIM #1] bend down behind a shelf to restock products. Shortly after she bent down, Mr. Wright approached her from behind, stood over her, widened his stance, then distinctly lowered his groin towards her, raised it up, then lowered his groin towards her again while she was underneath him. The motion Mr. Wright made appeared to be intentional and distinctly sexual in nature.
Based on Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s testimony and my observations on scene, I placed Mr. Wright under arrest for public indecency for conduct that constituted an indecent fondling of another person’s body in a public place without their consent.
I placed Mr. Wright in double locked handcuffs and searched him incident to arrest. During the search, Officer Smith recovered a glass pipe containing black residue on Mr. Wright’s person. Based on my training and experience, I determined this to be a pipe commonly used for smoking illicit substances.
Mr. Wright was banned from the above location.
I transported Mr. Wright to CCDC in my marked patrol vehicle without incident. I transported the pipe that was recovered from Mr. Wright’s person to the SPD property room located at 78 Ross Road and logged it as evidence. I uploaded a copy of the security footage to SPD evidence servers on Evidence.com. I also provided a link for Ms. [VICTIM #1] to do the same.
