On 09/20/2025 at approximately 1335 hours, while in uniform driving a marked patrol vehicle, I responded to an Auto Collision at 1815 E. Victory Dr.
Initial Contact
When I arrived at the scene, I contacted Ms. ANNA C. ARNSDORFF sitting on the curb by her vehicle. She was extremely emotional and concerned about being in trouble. I began to conduct an accident investigation by interviewing witnesses at the scene. They all informed me that Ms. ARNSDORFF was behaving erratically and believed that it was not safe for her to drive. Her vehicle was parked going against traffic exiting the parking lot at the above address. Witnesses also stated that she attempted to flee the scene multiple time before I arrived. Due to safety concerns and to prevent another attempt to flee the scene, I removed her keys from the vehicle.
Invesitgation
During the investigation, officers at the scene began to suspect that Ms. ANNA C. ARNSDORFF was intoxicated. Ofc Wall heard her slurring her words and constantly repeating the same few sentences while speaking to her when I was interviewing the other driver. She eventually stood up to show Ofc Wall the damage to her vehicle at which time she had difficulty getting up. She then began to stagger as she approached her vehicle. He and Ofc Lambert also informed me that the odor of alcoholic beverage could be smelled on her breath. After speaking with the other driver, Mr. [VICTIM #1], I contacted Ms. ARNSDORFF a second and confirmed the odor of alcoholic beverage.
Since I could not peform SFSTs due to her involvement in the collision, I read Miranda Warnings to Ms. ARNSDORFF; she declined to speak with me. I then read Implied Consent to her and she refused. She was then placed under arrest for DUI – Less Safe. I placed her in double-locked handcuffs and sat her in the rear of my vehicle. While doing so, she made several spotaneous utterances. She stated that “[she] didn’t drink that much” and asked “how bad is [her] alcohol?” I reminded her that she invoke her Fifith Amendment right so I could no longer interview her regarding the DUI investigation. After placing her in my vehicle, Ofc Wall advised me that she told him that she had just left Tequila Town prior to the accident. Lt. Kohles arrived to conduct a search during which Ms. ARNSDORFF stated that “[she] only had 2 Trulies,” an alcoholic beverage. She made those statements at least a dozen times while in my vehicle and at the hospital. She also made another spontaneous utterance stating that she was “on depression medicine.”
Conclusion
I retrieved her housekeys and the contents of her purse from her vehicle and Ofc Wall remained with the vehicle, while I transported her to Memorial Hospital for medical clearance. She was then transported to the Chatham County Detention Center where she was booked.
This currently concludes my involvement in this incident.
