[NARRATIVE #1 on October 17, 2025]
On 10/17/2025, I, Ofc. M. Johnston was on uniform patrol when I was dispatched to a Threats Call at 60 Triple B Trail (Amazon Warehouse) at 0816 hours. The caller advised that an employee, Cedrick Gardener, had made threats to shoot employees, damaged property, and left the warehouse heading northbound of Jimmy Deloach Parkway. Mr. Garden was reported to be a 6’3″ skinny black male wearing an orange vest and blue jeans. I drove down Benton Blvd from Pooler Parkway. I did not see any matching the description while driving to the incident location.
Upon my arrival at 0826 hours, I entered the business with APO Silva-Brown. We were notified by staff that Mr. Garden was not on scene and had left the business. The manager showed me a copy of Mr. Garden’s work ID photo. Mr. Garden was a light skinned black male with short cropped black hair and a faded beard. With that information I left the business to search the area for Mr. Garden.
APO Silva-Brown advised me that if I came into contact with Mr. Gardener to detain him.
I canvassed northbound on Jimmy Deloach Pkwy with negative results. I then checked the Burger King and BP Gas station at the corner of Jimmy Delouch Pkwy and Benton Blvd. In the BP gas station parking lot was a Savannah Police Officer who advised me he had not seen a male fitting that description in the area. He advised he was waiting at the gas station when he heard the call come out on Pooler PD’s channel. At that time, I drove down Benton Blvd towards the Highlands along with the SPD officers to check the area for Mr. Garden.
At 2175 Benton Blvd (Parker’s gas station), I observed a light skinned black male wearing an orange hoodie that matched Mr. Gardener’s picture inside the Parker’s gas station. I asked if he was Cedrick Gardener and he stated yes. Mr. Gardener was on the phone. I asked him to hang up, which he did. I asked him to follow me outside and to talk to me. I went to my vehicle with Mr. Garden and asked if he worked at the Amazon warehouse.
He stated “I just quit”. I repeated his statement and he stated, “I just quit”. I asked him what happened. He stated “I was about to get into a fight so I just left”. I asked him for his Driver’s License. He searched his pockets and then stated “I left it in my bag. It’s all at Amazon”.
I asked him to put his phone on top of the hood of the SPD vehicle. He did so. I then asked him to turn around and place his hands behind his back. Mr. Gardener did so. I placed him in handcuffs that were then double locked. I checked his pockets. In the front hoodie pocket was a phone charger and a battery for a radio.
I advised Mr. Gardener his was detained and not under arrest. There was footage at the warehouse of Mr. Gardener damaging property per APO-Silva-Brown, and Mr. Gardener was being detained at that moment.
When I took him to the back of my vehicle, Mr. Gardener stated “I walked away from the situation. I’ll tell you what happened. Me and a coworker and I were about to get into a fight and I walked away… It got heated. I ain’t gonna lie to you.”
I then placed Mr. Gardener in the back of my vehicle and buckled him in. I contacted APO Silva-Brown. He advised me to bring Mr. Gardener to 60 Trible B Trail so he could speak to him. I then began to transport Mr. Gardener back to the warehouse.
While enroute, he asked, “Are they pressing charges. The Amazon”. I advised him I did not know. He would have to talk to APO Silva-Brown. Mr. Gardener then stated, “Yes sir. I just walked off. I just quit. Like it got heat. Like I’m not gonna lie to you. Real me and a coworker almost got into a fight.”
I asked what the fight was over. He stated “He hit my machine. I could tell management that. I don’t want to work there anymore… I know how I get so I just walked away. But it was just a heated situation. I’m not gonna lie to you.
Mr. Gardener stated “I will apologize. You know being heated, I’mma go ahead and tell you officer. A trash can or two. You know, cuz I’m mad throwin stuff cuz I can’t put my hands on you. But that’s all it was. I didn’t damage an property… But I was heated”.
Later, Mr. Gardener stated “It’s not worth my freedom. That’s why I walked away. It’s not worth it”.
I stood by with Mr. Gardener in the back of my vehicle at the Warehouse without incident. During that time Mr. Gardener stated the same things about the situation he had stated before. He then stated “I don’t wanna fight on the job. I’m too grown for that”.
I observed during the transport that Mr. Gardener was anxious. He repeatedly looked around the vehicle as he spoke. His eyes were open wide with pinpoint pupils. As we were waiting for APO Silva-Brown, Mr. Garden repeatedly put his forehead against the back of the cage.
APO Silva-Brown then spoke with Mr. Gardener. At that time Mr. Gardener was officially placed under arrest.
I then obtained Mr. Gardener’s date of birth and social security number for APO Silva-Brown.
I then stood by with Mr. Gardener until APO Silva-Brown took him into his custody.
Once Mr. Gardener was in APO Silva-Brown’s custody, I returned the radio battery found on Mr. Gardener’s perso to an Amazon manager.

[NARRATIVE #2 on October 18, 2025]
On 10/18/25, I was dispatched to 60 Triple B Trail (Amazon) in reference to a male threatening a co-worker. The call notes would state the offender was no longer on scene and was last seen traveling north on Jimmy Deloach Parkway.
Upon My Arrival
I would observe the front of the warehouse to be in disarray. There were plastic cups all over the floor, pink Starbursts, and a black water dispenser lying on its side, broken, and currently leaking water from the inside. I was advised that the male who caused the incident (Cedrick Gardner) had left the scene. However, the male he threatened ([VICTIM #1]) was inside the main office waiting to speak with the police. I would arrive at the office and begin to speak with [VICTIM #1].
Speaking with [VICTIM #1]
[VICTIM #1] advised that he works on a machine that moves boxes from one part of the warehouse to another. When he finishes his load of boxes, he would then get into a line and get ready to be reloaded. He advised that while in line, there were two people, a female and a male, next to him. He would explain Gardner as the male. The female would ask [VICTIM #1] if she could go in front of him, trying to be nice to his coworker. He said yes to the female. Gardner would then wait a couple of minutes after the female and would ask [VICTIM #1] if he could also go in front of him.
[VICTIM #1] explained that he said no because he was scared of getting trouble for being there for so long. He, however, did advise that if Gardner had asked as soon as the female did, he would have said yes. But due to the gap in time when Gardner asked to go in front, he said no. Even though he told him no, Gardner still proceeded to back up and try to get in front of him. Gardner would begin to move closer with his machine towards [VICTIM #1] and would state he did not care if the machines hit each other.
Gardner would move his machine closer, and contact was made between both. After he moved away, he advised that Gardner had threatened him and was cursing at him. He continued to advise that Gardner said “he’s going to beat my a*s…. kick my a*s… shoot my a*s.”. He would then state that Gardner advised he was going to kill him. Gardner would repeat that multiple times. He would advise Gardner would say, “I’m going to shoot you…. I’m going to kill you.”
[VICTIM #1] advised that at the moment in time, he was not afraid for his life at work. However, he was in fear of leaving work or being away from work, as he did not know what could happen. He also advised that nothing physical happened. [VICTIM #1] also advised that he wished to press charges against Gardner.
Listed below is the interview with all the witnesses in this incident and the observations from the security footage.
Speaking with [WITNESS #1]:
[WITNESS #1] advised that he did not observe anything between [VICTIM #1] and Gardner. He would, however, observe Gardner leaving. He observed Gardner throw things to the ground and heard him make threats.
Speaking with [WITNESS #2]:
[WITNESS #2] was notified of the incident via radio. As he was going towards the incident, he could hear Gardner throwing things to the ground and being loud. He would hear Gardner say, “Ill f*ckin kill everybody in here.. I’ll shoot everybody.. you don’t know who you’re f*cken with” he would observe Gardner would then knock over the water cooler and storm off. When asked how much the water cooler was worth, he would advise that he was unsure, but between $500.00-$600.00.
Amazon also wished to press charges for the damage to the stand.
While speaking with [WITNESS #2], I was notified by Ofc. Johnston that he located Gardner in Savannah’s area at this time and detained and transported him back to the scene.
Observations From Security Footage Time Stamp 08:04 AM
I observed a black male in a bright orange hoodie with white and black shoes (identified as Gardner) walking towards the exit. Gardner would walk towards the water cooler, with both arms, he shoved it to the ground and kept walking. He would then walk towards a table with paper cups and a vase of pink starburst and throw everything off, breaking the vase. He would then leave the warehouse.
Speaking with [WITNESS #3]:
[WITNESS #3] was the supervisor in the rear where the incident began. She observed Gardner exit his machine and began to yell and threaten [VICTIM #1]. She heard him say he was going to shoot [VICTIM #1]. She would also state she heard him say, “I’ll shoot this place up”.
Speaking With [WITNESS #4]:
[WITNESS #4] would state that Gardner would ask [VICTIM #1] to get in front of him in line. Gardner got upset when he was told no and got off his machine. He would state Gardner was “crashing out” and made a statement towards the victim, “if he had a gun, he would shoot him.”
Speaking, [WITNESS #5]:
[WITNESS #5] would hear Gardner say “I’m gonna f*cken kill somebody,” “I’m trying not to hurt somebody,” and would hear that multiple times. He saw Gardner starting to approach the victim as if he wanted to fight. He would hear all the damage happening to the warehouse as Gardner was leaving.
I would then go outside and begin speaking with Gardner.
Speaking with Gardner:
Gardner would be read his Miranda rights. He wished to speak with me.
Gardner would state that he almost got into an altercation with a coworker [VICTIM #1]. It should be noted, Gardner was still wearing the orange hoodie and shoes that were seen in the video. He would state that he had exchanged words with him due to [VICTIM #1] hitting his machine. He stated to avoid hitting [VICTIM #1] and having a physical altercation. He walked towards the exit and threw a couple of trash cans down. He would advise that was all that happened.
I would then ask if he would remember anything else he threw down while he was leaving. He advised some things for breast cancer awareness, but that was it. When asked about the things observed on the footage. He would just say ok. He would then state that when this all happened, he saw “red”.
I would ask him the following questions, and he would answer with the following.
He was asked if he told the victim he was crazy? He would state yes, he did.
He was asked if he made the statement that he would f*cken kill the victim? He stated instead of saying f*cken kill, he said, “I will… kill ’em.”
He would deny saying he would come back to the warehouse to shoot [VICTIM #1].
When asked if he had a gun, would he have shot him? He stated he was unsure because he saw “red”.
He would deny, stating that he would come back and shoot the warehouse up
He would state he did not own a gun
He advised that he had no medical problems.
Gardner would then make the statement of “n***a hit my machine, and we were going at it, and I would have whooped his a*s”.
