On Sunday (12/21/2025) I was dispatched to a Fight Call on Abercorn Street just South of Broughton Lane.
Upon my arrival I observe a subject [VICTIM #1] face down on the sidewalk with a pool of blood around his head. I observed a gray Jeep Compass [REDACTED] parked near [VICTIM #1]. another subject (Gregory Greene) walked from in front of the Jeep and began to yell that [VICTIM #1] was hitting his car. Greene called out that PD needed to check camera footage and they would see that [VICTIM #1] was beating on his Jeep.
Greene was detained in hand cuffs.
I helped switch [VICTIM #1] to his back so Cpl Lee could provide him medical attention. I observed that [VICTIM #1] had a large gash on the left side of his forehead that was bleeding heavily. I observed [VICTIM #1] head was swollen and deformed. I observed that [VICTIM #1] was in and out of consciousness and unable to respond to questions.
A female subject [WITNESS #1] was with [VICTIM #1] advising she was present for the altercation.
I returned to Greene and advised him of his constitutional rights, to which he agreed to speak with me without legal representation.
I asked Greene what happened to which he advised he was sitting in his Jeep while parked in the exit of the parking deck that led to Abercorn Street, when [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] approached his vehicle. Greene advised that [VICTIM #1] beats his fists on the passenger door of his Jeep. I asked Greene why [VICTIM #1] was angry, to which Greene advised he believes [VICTIM #1] was upset that he was blocking the side walk. Greene informed he told [VICTIM #1] to go around his car to which [VICTIM #1] almost ripped his rear view mirror off.
Greene proclaimed what he did in return was self defense. I asked Greene what happened next to which he advised that [VICTIM #1] came to his driver door and began beating on his window. I asked Greene what he did next to which he advised “I came out my car and I hit him”. I asked Greene if he only hit him once, which he confirmed.
I asked Greene how [VICTIM #1] reacted when he (Greene) first exited the door, to which he advised he ([VICTIM #1]) did nothing. I asked Greene why he hit [VICTIM #1] to which he advised “self defense”.
Greene advised he never knew what [VICTIM #1] was saying outside his car, but he knew that [VICTIM #1] hit his Jeep first.
Greene advised he felt startled and scared of [VICTIM #1]. Greene further informed he also felt angry and scared that [VICTIM #1] would hurt him. I asked Greene if he could remember if [VICTIM #1] made any threats to hurt him, to which he advised the situation happened very fast and he did not know.
EMS was called and arrived on scene at this time for [VICTIM #1].
I made contact with [WITNESS #1] who advised that she was walking with [VICTIM #1] North on Abercorn when that had a verbal altercation with Greene in his jeep for him blocking the sidewalk with his vehicle.
[WITNESS #1] informed that [VICTIM #1] and Greene continued to argue while she was attempting to get [VICTIM #1] to leave and de-escalate the situation. [WITNESS #1] informed that [VICTIM #1] only tapped on the glass of the Jeep. [WITNESS #1] advised that Greene then jumped out of his vehicle and knocked [VICTIM #1] out with one punch.
[WITNESS #1] advised that Greene then tried to leave in his Jeep but she blocked his door with her person until PD arrived on scene.
I asked [WITNESS #1] how Greene punched [VICTIM #1], to which she advised that she and [VICTIM #1] were walking away and Greene came up behind them and punched [VICTIM #1] in the head.
I observed that [VICTIM #1] was awake with EMS. I asked [VICTIM #1] what happened to which he advised he could not remember. I photographed [VICTIM #1] injuries and uploaded them onto Evidence.Com.
Cpl Crosby was able to pull surveillance footage which showed [VICTIM #1] tap on the driver side door glass of the Jeep. I observed that [VICTIM #1] then turns and begins to walk away with [WITNESS #1] before Greene gets out of the Jeep and punches [VICTIM #1] from behind on the right side of his jaw. I observe that [VICTIM #1]’ body goes limp and he falls flat onto his face, striking his forehead on the brick sidewalk.
Cpl Crosby uploaded the surveillance footage for this incident onto Evidence.Com.
I inspected Greene’s Jeep and could not observe any damage.
[WITNESS #1] advised that she and her husband [VICTIM #1] did want to press charges for this incident.
I charged Greene with the following:
Aggravated Battery OCGA 16-5-24.
Greene was transported to CCDC by patrol units.
[VICTIM #1] was transported for medical treatment by EMS.
Lt Petit was on scene.
Lt Wiggins was on scene.
