On March 21, 2O26 at approximately 0450 hours, officers were dispatched to the Circle K located at 7110 State Route 21 in reference to a physical domestic between a black male and female.

Upon arrival, officers were advised both parties had left the scene, and were no where to be found at that time. At 0445, I was sitting in the turning lane on SR-21 waiting to turn left onto Hwy 30. While waiting at the light, a black female later identified as [VICTIM #1] [REDACTED] approached my vehicle stating she had just been assaulted and that her rear window had been busted out. I then advised [VICTIM #1] to pull in to the CVS parking lot so she and I could talk further.

Once out of the roadway, contact was made with [VICTIM #1]. It should be notated [VICTIM #1] was not wearing a shirt, and had redness, swelling, cuts, and bruises all over her face, neck, and head area. Photographs of [VICTIM #1] injuries were taken at this time, and will be uploaded to the case file. When asked, [VICTIM #1] advised she was a part of the domestic that took place at the Circle K, but was unable to get law enforcements attention at that time while they were on scene.

I was able to observe [VICTIM #1] passenger side rear window had been shattered at this time. When asked, [VICTIM #1] advised her boyfriend Henry Roberson [REDACTED] was the one whom assaulted her, as well as the one who shattered the window.

[VICTIM #1] stated she and Roberson were staying at the Quality Inn room [REDACTED] which is where the incident began. [VICTIM #1] stated she had fallen asleep, but Roberson woke her up in attempt of having sex with her. [VICTIM #1] advised she was not in the mood, therefore she went back to sleep. [VICTIM #1] stated when she woke back up, she noticed Roberson was going through her bag. [VICTIM #1] advised she questioned Roberson, and that was when he became aggressive with her.

[VICTIM #1] stated Roberson requested her to leave the hotel, therefore she got out of the bed and began gathering her belongings. [VICTIM #1] stated when she approached the door, Roberson grabbed her, slammed her onto the bed and began choking her and punching her. [VICTIM #1] advised Roberson then pushed her up against the wall and began choking her again to the point of where her air ways was restricted. [VICTIM #1] advised Roberson snatched her keys and cell phone from her possession to keep her from leaving or calling 911.

[VICTIM #1] stated once she was able to fight Roberson off of her, she managed to escape the hotel room. [VICTIM #1] stated she then ran to several businesses there in the area in attempt of receiving help, but was unable to find anyone. [VICTIM #1] stated she then ran to the Circle K and requested to use several people’s cell phone so she could call 911, but no one would allow her to do so at the time. [VICTIM #1] stated Roberson began running after her until finally an unknown truck driver intervened. [VICTIM #1] stated the truck driver talked Roberson into giving her her car keys, therefore she ran back to her vehicle so she could leave.

[VICTIM #1] stated Roberson chased after her at this time, but she was able to make it to her vehicle. [VICTIM #1] stated as she was pulling out of the parking spot, Roberson began chasing after the vehicle, and then threw an unknown object at her passenger side rear window causing it to shatter. [VICTIM #1] stated she continued driving, and that was when she waived me down at the red light.

Officers later made contact with Roberson at the Quality Inn, room [REDACTED]. Roberson stated [VICTIM #1] became upset after he confronted her about allegedly being married. Roberson claimed [VICTIM #1] broke her own vehicle window and that the physical altercation did not progress beyond [VICTIM #1] grabbing his shirt. Roberson initially stated he never left the hotel room; however, after being confronted with information that an officer observed him at the Circle K, Roberson admitted to going to the store but denied any further involvement.

Officer Kelley reviewed surveillance footage from the Circle K which showed [VICTIM #1] running from Roberson in an apparent attempt to seek assistance. While the footage did not capture the entirety of the incident, it corroborated [VICTIM #1]’ account that she was fleeing from Roberson.

Based on [VICTIM #1]’ statements, the visible and documented injuries, corroborating surveillance footage, and inconsistencies in Roberson’s statements, probable cause was established to believe that Roberson committed he offenses of Aggravated Assault (strangulation), Battery, Obstruction of a 911 Call, Criminal Trespass, and Robbery by Sudden Snatching.

Roberson was placed under arrest without incident, handcuffed, and searched incident to arrest with no weapons or contraband located. Roberson was transported by Officer Hoskins to the Chatham County Detention Center, where he was turned over to jail staff without incident. Roberson was issued a subpoena for court on March 24, 2026, at 1330 hours.
