On 11/10/2025 while conducting patrol activities at W. Bay Street and Whitaker St., I saw a man in a yellow sweater, [WITNESS #1], lying on top of Jack Schoedinger in the middle of the street, trying to pin him down. On the sidewalk, I saw a white female, [VICTIM #1], lying on her side, unable to move her body was positioned in a way that half of her body was on the sidewalk and the other half was on the road. She was holding her arm and would not move.
I separated the two males and questioned [WITNESS #1]. He stated that he saw Ms. [VICTIM #1] running north on Whitaker, and Mr. Schoedinger, her husband, was chasing her. Mr. [WITNESS #1] said she was hitting him and calling for help whenever her husband would get close enough to grab her and on two seperate occassions, Ms. [VICTIM #1] was able to get free and attempted to hide from her husband and appeared to be in fear. Mr. [WITNESS #1] ran over to the couple and attempted to assisit Ms. [VICTIM #1] when Mr. Schoedinger turned on him. Mr. [WITNESS #1] struck him in the face with a closed fist, causing Mr. Schoedinger to fall face-first in the middle of the street, where I found them.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] was intoxicated and was unable to provide any information regarding the incident. Mr. Schoedinger was also heavily intoxicated.
Mr. [WITNESS #2] also saw the events unfold and stated he first saw Ms. [VICTIM #1] trying to get away from her husband near Ellis Square on W. Congress St. She ran east on W Congress and ran north on Whitaker. He stated Ms. [VICTIM #1] was yelling for help and appeared to be in fear for her safety.
On Mr. Schoedinger’s face, I was able to see fresh blood, which appeared to come from his mouth. Ms. [VICTIM #1] had been injured on her left side and was transported to Memorial Hospital for further evaluation. Mr. [WITNESS #1] had a fresh cut on his knuckles that was actively bleeding.
All three individuals were evaluated by EMS. Mr. Schoedinger was transported to Precinct 2 to be held while a domestic violence detective interviewed his wife at Memorial Hospital.
A supervisor responded to the scene.
Mr. Schoedinger was transported to CCDC.
