On September 16th, 2025 at approximately 2131 hours I was dispatched to a Domestic at [700 BLOCK] W Victory Dr.

Upon arrival I spoke with Ms. [VICTIM #1] who stated she had to pick up one of her kids from school due to her husband Mr. James Mikell not picking her up. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated when she got home and dropped her daughter off she stated she told her Mr. Mikell that they were over and she was done with him. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated after telling him that he started arguing with her.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated while they were arguing in the bedroom Mr. Mikell grabbed her neck and pushed her head into the wall. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she was trying to fight him off of her but she could not get him off of her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated her daughter Ms. [WITNESS #1] saw and heard the altercation. I did not oberve any brusing or marks on Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated her pinky finger hurt due to her trying to get Mr. Mikell off of her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] declined EMS.

I spoke with Ms. [WITNESS #1], who stated that she overheard escalating voices coming from another room. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she called the police before things escalated. After placing the call, Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she attempted to intervene by entering the room where her parents were engaged in a dispute and was told to leave the room. Ms. [WITNESS #1] clarified that she did not witness any physical altercation; she only heard it.

A Domestic Violence detective was notfied.

I then made my way over to speak with the neighbor, Ms. [WITNESS #2], who resides at [700 BLOCK] W Victory Dr. Upon my arrival, she informed me that just about five minutes prior to my visit, she had heard a loud commotion. She stated the noise seemed to be coming from the back of the house.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that her husband might be at Memorial Childrens Hospital were their daughter is currently at.

I visited Memorial Children’s Hospital in hopes of contacting Mr. Mikell regarding the recent incident. Upon arriving at the hospital, I took a moment to drive through the parking lot where I successfully identified Mr. Mikell’s vehicle based on the license plate information provided by his wife.

After locating his car, I saw that he was still in it and went to speak with Mr. Mikell. He stated that earlier in the evening, he was sitting on the edge of their bed folding laundry when the disagreement began. Mr. Mikell, stated the argument centered around him forgetting to pick up their other children as scheduled.

When I asked him if the argument escalated into anything physical, Mr. Mikell stated that he did not lay a hand on his wife. He stated that they were merely gesturing with their hands in each other’s faces. Mr. Mikell stated that he grabbed his keys and left the house to check on his daughter at the at the hopital.

Detective Hogan arrived on scene at the Childrens Hospital.

Mr. Mikell was arrested and transported to MMC for a medical clearance. Mr. Mikell was then transported to CCDC were he was charged and booked for Aggravated Assault DVA and Simple Battery DVA.

A CRN was given to both parties.
