On February 3rd, 2026 around 1242 hours, Ofc Ashley Parker rolled up on a crash at Skidaway Rd and E 36th St near the McDonalds. One vehicle left the scene southbound on Skidaway Rd.
See Crash Report For Details.
During our investigation, camera footage of the crash was captured at the Pump & Go across the street from McDonalds. Footage showed the collision and the 2011 GMC Acadia Denali fleeing the scene from the crash. Witnesses were able to get the license plate information for the hit-and-run vehicle. The license plate was [REDACTED]/GA. The address for the vehicle was three minutes away. Ofc Parker and myself went to the location to make contact with owner or possible driver.
A neighbor confirmed the hit-and-run vehicle being present at the residence of [2200 BLOCK] E 41st St. The neighbor made contact with the vehicle owner.
Mrs. [REDACTED] stated the following after I advised her about the hit-and-run that occurred with her vehicle: She stated her husband Jefferson Reid drives the vehicle and he was supposed to be at work. She called and made contact with him. Mr. Reid admitted to her about the crash but fled due to being nervous and since it was minor crash. She advised he was going to return to the house and speak with officers
About twenty minutes later, Mr. Reid arrived and spoke with officers. During the investigation, Mr. Reid had odor of alcohol coming from his breathe per Corporal Frazier.
Deputy Greene with Chatham County Sheriff Office was in the area at the time. His assistance was requested. See his report for the Driving Under The Influence (DUI) Investigation C260200045.
Mr. Reid was placed under arrest for Hit-And-Run (OCGA 40-6-270), Failure To Yield Entering A Roadway (OCGA 40-6-73), Restricted License (OCGA 40-5-30C), Driving Under The Influence Of Multiple Substance (OCGA 40-6-391A-4).
He was transported to Memorial Medical Center for medical clearance. He was then transported to Chatham County Detention Center for booking.
