On 9/19/2025 approximately 12 A.M. I responded to [700 BLOCK] E. DeRenne Ave. in reference to a suspicious person.

Upon arrival I found the suspect walking away from the address given. After asking the now identified suspect Johnny Simpson a few questions about why he was in the area, Johnny replied with he knows someone who lives around here. I saw the reporting parties standing outside. Due to the call notes stating the reporting parties were in danger I detained Johnny for investigative purposes placing him in double locked handcuffs the back of my patrol vehicle.

[WITNESS #1] explained she and her roommate [WITNESS #2] came home from a night out. The roommates saw the suspect lying down in front of their house by the street. later, in the night [WITNESS #1] saw a silhouette of a man outside her window who appeared to be trying to look in. She ran and told [WITNESS #2] what she saw. The two then observed Johnny pacing back-and-forth and felt as if he was trying to figure out how it get in. Johnny then walked up to the front door, grabbed the doorknob, trying to gain access to the residence. (As described by [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2]) Johnny, while still holding the doorknob violently shook the door trying to gain access. Johnny was then observed trying to conceal his identity by covering himself up with a rug or blanket and standing in a corner hiding.

[WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] both were afraid he would enter the house. They did not feel safe with him around after this incident. The roommates did not know who Johnny was and had never seen him before and they wanted to press charges against Johnny.

After speaking to [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] I felt I had enough to arrest Johnny Simpson for Criminal trespass (OCGA 16-7-21) as he tried and failed to gain access to a residence that he had no affiliation to and loitering and prowling (OCGA 16-11-36) as the witnesses described; he was lurking around looking in the resident’s windows and trying to gain access to the residence by violent shaking and pulling at the doorknob, as described by the resident.

I informed Johnny about why he was being arrested and what his charges were. Johnny denied doing such things and during his justification his story aligned with what the reporting party told me.

I transported Johnny to CCDC and he was denied due to high blood pressure. I transported Johnny to Memorial Hospital for medical clearance. He was cleared by medical doctors, and I then transported him back to CCDC for booking and placed Johnny Simpson into their care.

A CRN form was given to [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2].
