On September [12], 2025, I responded to Parkside Apartments at [2100 BLOCK] Benton Blvd apartment [REDACTED] regarding a male and female arguing causing a disturbance to neighbors.
As Cpl. Rich and I came close to the apartment, I could hear the voice of a male yelling from inside the apartment. I knocked on the door and made contact with a male subject who was later identified as Mr. Joshua Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzales stepped into the hallway of the apartments to speak with me. Mr. Gonzalez informed me that he and his wife, Mrs. [WITNESS #1], were arguing. I informed Mr. Gonzalez they were getting complaints about their argument as it could be heard from outside of the apartment. He advised they were arguing because he wants to break the marriage off with his wife.
While speaking with Mr. Gonzalez, Mrs. [WITNESS #1] comes to the door. I made Mr. Gonzalez go by Cpl. Rich while I spoke to Mrs. [WITNESS #1]. Mrs. [WITNESS #1] said it was a verbal argument between her and Mr. Gonzalez, but he kept escalating the argument when she was attempting to de-escalate. She stated he started yelling in her face and calling her slurs.
While speaking with Mrs. [WITNESS #1], Mr. Gonzalez began yelling at her and calling her slurs such as “b*tch” and “n*gger”. I informed Mr. Gonzalez he needed to cease his actions as he was in the hallway now and yelling, which was causing a disturbance to other residents.
I asked Mr. Gonzalez if he had somewhere to temporarily go to de-escalate the situation between him and Mrs. [WITNESS #1], he stated not having anywhere to go. I informed him and Mrs. [WITNESS #1] that I could not make Mr. Gonzalez leave the residence as they have both been in the residence for over 30 days. Mrs. [WITNESS #1] stated he did not have to go, but she just wanted him to stop screaming and yelling.
Despite this, Mr. Gonzalez continued to yell in the hallway and cursing at Mrs. [WITNESS #1]. I instructed Mr. Gonzalez to cease his actions again. He continued to cause a scene in the hallway despite being asked to stop.
A neighbor later identified as Mr. [WITNESS #2] stepped in the hallway because of Mr. Gonzalez’s actions. When he stepped out, Mr. Gonzalez began cursing and yelling at Mr. [WITNESS #2] and also calling him the racial slur “n*gger” multiple times. I had Mr. [WITNESS #2] step back into his apartment in another attempt to de-escalate the situation.
Mr. Gonzalez continued to cause a scene in the hallway despite my verbal orders to stop and go back to his residence. At this point Mr. Gonzalez was not listening to my verbal orders, and he was placed under arrest.
Mr. Joshua Gonzalez was charged with Disorderly Conduct (O.C.G.A 16-11-39) as he continued to cause a scene in the hallway of his apartment complex causing a disturbance to other residents. Additionally, he did not stop his behavior despite being told multiple times to stop.
He was searched incident to arrest and placed in the back of my marked patrol vehicle. Mr. Gonzalez was transferred to the Chatham County Jail and booked in without incident.
