On 1/9/[23], about 2030 hours, I responded to reports of a fight at [1100 BLOCK] Mohawk St, Mohawk Park.

Upon my arrival I made contact with a female, [VICTIM #1], whom was very upset. She was visibly shaking, crying and holding out her arm.

Asking what was going on she stated that she had gotten bit. She denied needing EMS at this time. (Photo of the injury uploaded to Axon)

[VICTIM #1] informed me that her boyfriend, Kedarron Smith, of almost a year did this to her. She explained that they moved up here from Florida for his job at Van Guard off Augusta Rd. He works every weekday starting at 7am. Currently they have no place to stay as they did not have money saved up so have been living out of his car.

[VICTIM #1] had walked to the store to clear her head because her brother died recently, she did not tell her boyfriend that she was leaving. When she got back she observed all her belongings on the ground outside of the vehicle.

I observed several suitcases and duffel bags stacked up in the gravel parking lot area of Mohawk Park. I also observed two tire tracks that appeared to be leaving the area of where [VICTIM #1] stated Smith’s vehicle was.

Smith was telling [VICTIM #1] that he was done with her, he no longer wanted to be in a relationship. [VICTIM #1] explained that she had gotten back into the vehicle as her phone was dead and she needed to charge it. She told me he was driving a 1998 or 1999 blue in color Dodge Durango with a Florida tag. [VICTIM #1] explained to him, he was not going to leave her stranded in the middle of the night with no phone. Smith became very irate trying to drag her out of the vehicle.

[VICTIM #1] explained that she was screaming and that [VICTIM #1] at one point started to strangle her. She stated that he had done so 2-3 times throughout their incident. The pressure was a 10 out of 10, she could barely breathe and felt like she was going to pass out but did not. She stated that she threw up some from the strangulation. During the time Smith was saying things like “I hate you” and “we are done.”

I observed what looked like bile and spit on her suitcase, black in color, next to her. [VICTIM #1] pulled down the neck of her shirt to show me a small mark, about 2 inches long going horizontal. (photo uploaded to Axon)

[VICTIM #1] explained that she was able to get him to stop and get back into the car to try charging her phone more. [VICTIM #1] stated that Smith calmed down some after that but once she was able to dial 911 he got upset again.

[VICTIM #1] stated that she was dragged out of the vehicle 3 times which in one of the times she was grabbing the door so tight it ripped off. I observed an inner door panel to what appeared to be an older model car sitting on the ground in the gravel lot. At the time she was unable to find her phone stating that Smith took it from her. [VICTIM #1] searched the area and found the phone in the woods just a few feet away from where the car would have been.

[VICTIM #1] was escorted to a shelter for the night. She stated that her mom would pick her up tomorrow.

Canvas was done for Smith but were unable to find him at this time. [VICTIM #1] explained that he hangs out off [100 BLOCK] Towncenter Dr in Garden City. She stated that he also goes to Rendant Apartments as well.

Pct 4 supervisor responded and DVA Detective responded and took over the scene.

CRN issued.
DVA Lethality done.
