On today’s date, I responded to [2800 BLOCK] Wicklow Street in reference to a domestic incident. During my time on scene, I utilized a translating officer to assist with communication.

Statement 1 ([VICTIM #1]):
The victim advised that while she was on the phone with her mother, her mother told her she had made fresh food and asked her to send her husband to pick it up. The victim stated that she then told her husband to go get the food and take the children with him. Her husband reportedly refused, telling her to go herself.

The victim said she explained that since she was a new driver, she did not want to drive at night. She further stated that she suggested he take one child with him. The victim then went to retrieve the car keys but picked up the husband’s set. She reported that she could not locate her own keys.

According to the victim, the husband dared her to touch his keys. She stated she responded by asking how else she was supposed to get to her mother’s house. The victim reported that at this point, the husband became upset, grabbed her by the hair, punched her once on the right side of the face, and then struck her again in the mouth and nose area. She further stated that the husband grabbed her and pushed her into a room to prevent her from going outside. After a few minutes, the victim opened the door and ran outside.

The victim also disclosed that this was not the first incident and that the husband had physically assaulted her a few months ago as well.

Statement 2 (Mujeeb Azizi):
The husband advised that he had just returned home from work and was tired. He stated that his wife told him to go to her mother’s home to get food, and when he declined, she insisted that he go instead of her. The husband stated that he told her to go herself and take the children with her, but she disagreed.

According to the husband, his wife then walked away with his keys. He said he did not want her to touch his keys and that she was unable to locate her own. The husband stated that he pushed her during their incident, at which point she struck her face on the bathroom door.

Observations:
During my time on scene, I observed visible injuries to Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s face, including blood on her lip. Her nose also appeared to be disfigured. EMS personnel on scene advised they believed her nose was broken. Ms. [VICTIM #1] declined transport with EMS.

OCGA 16-5-24, Aggravated Battery

I made my Sergeant aware of the charges on scene. The children, identified as [REDACTED] and [REDACTED], did not have physical injuries at the time of my investigation.

Prior to my departure, a CRN card was issued to Ms. [VICTIM #1], and a DVA lethality assessment was conducted with the assistance of a translating officer.
