On February 1st, 2026, I, Officer Schaff, responded to a reported 911 hang up at the location of [2400 BLOCK] Harden Street. Another call regarding a domestic altercation came out simultaneously at the address of [900 BLOCK] W 51st Street.
Officers arrived at that location to further investigate the potentially related call for service. I arrived on scene at [2400 BLOCK] Harden Street in my marked Savannah Police patrol SUV at around 1115 hours. Fire and EMS were also already on scene treating the victim who obtained minor lacerations to his thumb and arm.
After EMS was finished, I began speaking with the male who had the small lacerations. He was identified as [VICTIM #1] ([REDACTED BY AGENCY]/2008). I asked Mr. [VICTIM #1] to walk me through the events that occurred and where it happened. He first started by saying he and his “girl” lived together at the address of [900 BLOCK] West 51st Street. He stated that after falling sleep the night before around 2:00am, she began attempting to wake him and complained that he always slept in too late. He refused to get up which further escalated the argument.
At this point, he took his phone to the kitchen and plugged it in to avoid the argument with his girlfriend. Afterwards, he went into the bathroom. While being in the bathroom, Mr. [VICTIM #1] claimed he heard her unplug his phone and throwing it on the ground resulting in it shattering. He went out of the bathroom and then stated that she picked up a knife.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that he was able to get behind her, and restrain her arm movements by making a hug type squeeze. He did so in order to not be cut by the knife that she was actively holding and swinging around. Mr. [VICTIM #1] described the knife as a black long kitchen knife. Eventually during the struggle, she was able to spin away from him and subsequently cut him on his right thumb resulting in a small laceration.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] then fled from the house, out the front door and into the white camry that was at the house to pick him up. He stated after jumping into the front passenger-side seat, the female followed him and entered through the back left-side door and attempted to cut him again with the knife. I observed a small wound on Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s upper left arm which correlated with the positioning of where the female entered the vehicle.
I briefly spoke with Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s father who was at the address and at the car when picking him up at the incident location. He was identified as [WITNESS #1]. He confirmed that he observed the female run out of the front door with the black kitchen knife and begin making a swiping motion after entering through the back left door of the sedan. I asked if his son currently lived at the address we were at ([2400 BLOCK] Harden Street) and he responded no he has been staying with the girlfriend.
Detectives arrived on scene.
Photos of Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s injuries were uploaded via Evidence.com.
