On December 26, 2025, at about 12:23 pm, while dispatched to a stolen and recovered vehicle. I observed the suspect, Renita Hampton, bent over and urinating near the sidewalk on E. Broad St and Gordon St.

As I approached Ms. Hampton, I saw an open alcoholic beverage on the bench along with a black plastic bag containing other alcoholic beverages. Ms. Hampton was then put into handcuffs that were double locked and arrested for Public Indecency (16-6-8). Upon searching Ms. Hampton’s purse, it contained a brillo pad and a swisher package with a glass pipe commonly known for narcotic usage. Ms. Hampton was searched by a female officer and then seated in the backseat of the patrol vehicle.

Ms. Hampton was then transported to the Chatham County Detention Center for booking.

Ms. Hampton was charged with Public Indecency (16-6-8), Public Intoxication (16-11-41), and Possession and use of drug-related objects (16-13-32.2).

Ms. Hampton’s purse and evidence were then logged into the Savannah police property room at 78 Ross Rd.
