On 10/14/2025, units were dispatched to [1500 BLOCK] E 53rd St in reference to a domestic disturbance with a weapon.
The complainant, [VICTIM #1], called the police after leaving the incident address. Units made contact with her on 51st St. and was interviewed by Ofc Lester. She stated she drove her friend, [VICTIM #2], to the incident address under the impression that the suspect, Samajay Parrish, had been in a car accident.
Once they arrived, she stated Samajay Parrish was sitting outside on the front porch, and he had a black pistol showing. Once [VICTIM #2] got out of the vehicle, Samajay forced her inside the house at gunpoint. Afterwards, the complainant stated the suspect then turned his attention back to her vehicle, which was also occupied by her daughter [VICTIM #3], and the suspect pointed a black pistol at the vehicle.
I arrived at the incident location with Ofc. Kelly set up a perimeter in front of the house. While across the street from the incident location, I watched as the suspect walked quickly over to a silver Infiniti SUV (GA [REDACTED]), got in, and began to pull out of the driveway. Once the suspect noticed me, he quickly put the vehicle in park, got out, and ran back into the house.
Soon after, the victim, along with the daughter she had in common with the suspect, walked out of the front door and was directed towards fellow officers. The suspect’s mother, [WITNESS #1], followed and was removed from the scene. After call outs were conducted on the residence, Samajay Parrish exited the house with his hands up and was detained.
Ofc. Kelly interviewed the victim, [VICTIM #2]. She stated, this morning, between 0800-0900, the suspect went through her phone and found texts between her and another man. The suspect became upset and confronted [VICTIM #2], and they began to argue. At one point, the suspect threw cold water on [VICTIM #2] and their daughter [VICTIM #4]. The suspect would not give [VICTIM #2] her phone, but Ms [WITNESS #1], the suspect’s mother, attempted to mediate between the two. The suspect gave his mother the phone, who, in turn, gave the phone back to [VICTIM #2]. Soon after [VICTIM #2] left the house with her friend, the complainant.
After some time, [VICTIM #2] was contacted and told that Samajay, along with their daughter, was in a car accident and that she should return to the incident address. Once [VICTIM #2] returned, she was forced inside at gunpoint. Once inside, the victim said she had her daughter in her arms and was attempting to leave the house, but was threatened by the suspect and blocked from leaving.
The suspect and [VICTIM #2] have a daughter together and live together, but they do not have a permanent address, and they go back and forth, staying at the incident address and [900 BLOCK] Googe St, the suspect’s grandmother’s house.
The suspect was transported to precinct 5 for an interview and to CCDC without incident.
Precinct 5 supervisors and CID detectives arrived on scene.
