[NARRATIVE #1 on December 21, 2025]

On Sunday, December 21st, 2025, at approximately 1320 hours, I, Ofc. Meredith, while conducting uniformed police duties in a marked vehicle, received a dispatch call for an in-progress domestic dispute incident which was taking place at the Wendy’s Restaurant (5996 Ogeechee Rd.). Call notes indicated that a black female was striking a black male near a black truck.

Upon arrival on scene, I noticed a black truck (2022 black Chevrolet Silverado; GA Tag: [REDACTED]) with a black male standing near it. I made contact with the male (identified as [VICTIM #1]), and he initially stated that there was nothing to worry about, but seemed visibly distressed and emotionally distraught. I asked if he was injured, and he stated he wasn’t and asked where the female suspect (later identified as Shy’Gearia Golden) was located.

[VICTIM #1] stated that, just prior to my arrival on scene, she had left the scene. I asked what type of vehicle the female suspect drove and in which direction she drove. He stated he believed she drove a silver Toyota Corolla, but was unsure of the direction of travel. I advised [VICTIM #1] to stay on scene while I canvassed for the vehicle.

I canvassed the area for a vehicle matching the description given by [VICTIM #1]. Several moments later, Cpl. Roberts stated, via radio, that he had located the suspect vehicle and black female suspect. Cpl. Roberts then stopped the vehicle (silver Kia Optima; FL Tag: [REDACTED]) in the parking lot of the neighboring Wal-Mart Supercenter (6000 Ogeechee Rd.). Cpl. Roberts advised that he had made contact with the black female suspect. I proceeded to Cpl. Roberts location. Cpl. Roberts stated he would stay at the location and interview the black female suspect, while I returned to interview [VICTIM #1].

I returned to interview [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that he and Ms. Golden share a child together ([JUVENILE #1]; 8-year-old black female) and that, while he has primary custody of [JUVENILE #1], Ms. Golden has visitation rights. [VICTIM #1] stated that he had agreed to meet Ms. Golden in the parking lot of Wendy’s with [JUVENILE #1] to allow Ms. Golden to see her for the Christmas Holiday weekend. When Ms. Golden arrived on scene, she initiated a verbal argument with [VICTIM #1].

[VICTIM #1] stated that this argument escalated to a physical altercation, during which [VICTIM #1] stated that Ms. Golden struck him on the left side of his face with closed fists approximately five times. I inspected [VICTIM #1]’s face for any markings. I noticed that the left side of his face had displayed several skin indentations and, what appeared to be, small scratch marks. Pictures of [VICTIM #1]’s face and markings were taken and uploaded to evidence.com.

I asked [VICTIM #1] if he wished to receive medical treatment, and he stated he did not. I asked [VICTIM #1] if [JUVENILE #1] witnessed or was near [VICTIM #1] and Ms. Golden when this occurred, and he stated that she was. I asked if [JUVENILE #1] had been injured or otherwise forcefully touched or struck as a result of the incident, and he stated she had not been. [VICTIM #1] also stated that, during the incident, Ms. Golden struck the side of his driver’s side window forcefully several times. [VICTIM #1] stated that there was no damage to his vehicle. Upon inspection of the window, I observed no visible damage.

I contacted Cpl. Roberts via phone and informed him of [VICTIM #1]’s statements as well as the physical evidence observed by me of [VICTIM #1]’s face displaying signs of battery. I informed Cpl. Roberts to formally arrest Ms. Golden. Cpl. Roberts confirmed the arrest via radio communication, indicating an arrest was made.

Cpl. Roberts informed me that Ms. Golden stated that [VICTIM #1] had not made any contact or violent gestures or maneuvers towards her throughout the incident. With this knowledge, I returned to [VICTIM #1] and provided him with a CRN pamphlet and informed him that Ms. Golden was arrested for Simple Battery under the Family Violence Act (O.C.G.A. 16-5-23). [VICTIM #1] stated his desire to have on record that he wishes Ms. Golden the opportunity to receive bail for this incident. [VICTIM #1] then left the scene.

I entered the Wendy’s restaurant and made contact with [WITNESS #1], a store manager at the restaurant, and a witness to the incident. [WITNESS #1] stated that she witnessed Ms. Golden strike [VICTIM #1] several times on his face with both closed and open fists. [WITNESS #1] further stated that Ms. Golden was acting in an aggressive and loud manner, consistent with actions which could otherwise be described as violent and tumultuous, including profane language directed towards [VICTIM #1] and in the presence of [JUVENILE #1].

[WITNESS #1] also displayed video footage of the incident, which was recorded from a smart phone. In the footage, Ms. Golden can be seen striking [VICTIM #1] several times. Additionally, Ms. Golden can be seen entering [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle and striking him, as well as what appears to be her attempting to forcibly remove [JUVENILE #1] from the vehicle. Ms. Golden can also be seen in the footage forcibly striking the vehicle’s driver’s side front window with a closed fist. Lastly, Ms. Golden can be seen removing an item from the vehicle (unknown item) and throwing it across the parking lot and into the access road leading from Ogeechee Rd. into the parking lot, where active traffic was traveling at the time of the incident. This footage was provided voluntarily by [WITNESS #1] and uploaded to evidence.com.

I then spoke with [WITNESS #2], another store manager at the Wendy’s restaurant. [WITNESS #2] stated that she witnessed the incident while working the drive-through window. [WITNESS #2] stated she witnessed Ms. Golden strike [VICTIM #1] several times in the face. Additionally, [WITNESS #2] stated that she witnessed Ms. Golden enter [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle and attempt to forcibly remove [JUVENILE #1] from the vehicle.

After collecting these witness statements and subsequent video footage, I proceeded to Cpl. Roberts’s location. When I arrived, Ms. Golden was seated in the back of his marked police vehicle. I removed Ms. Golden from Cpl. Roberts vehicle and led her to the side of my vehicle. I conducted a search incident to arrest of her person, finding no weapons or contraband.

I placed her in the back of my marked vehicle. I read her the Miranda warning, and Ms. Golden gave no answer when asked if she understood her Miranda rights. I secured a lap and shoulder restraint around her person and proceeded to the Chatham County Detention Center.

Once at CCDC, I informed Ms. Golden of her charges. I then completed all necessary booking procedures. I returned to my vehicle and inspected the rear passenger area for any items left behind by Ms. Golden, finding none.

I charged Ms. Golden with the following offenses:

-Simple Battery under the Family Violence Act (O.C.G.A. 16-5-23) made manifest by Ms. Golden having been witnessed and recorded intentionally making physical contact of an insulting and provoking nature with [VICTIM #1] and causing physical harm as evidenced by physical markings observed on [VICTIM #1]’s left side of his face. This act was committed against [VICTIM #1], with whom she shares a child [JUVENILE #1].

-Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree (O.C.G.A. 16-5-70d) made manifest by Ms. Golden intentionally allowing a child under the age of 18 ([JUVENILE #1]) to witness the commission of family violence battery incident.

-Disorderly Conduct (O.C.G.A. 16-11-39) made manifest by Ms. Golden acting in a violent or tumultuous manner toward [VICTIM #1]’s person and property, thereby placing his person and property in danger of being damaged. Additionally, Ms. Golden was witnessed to use profane and obscene language in the presence of a person under the age of 14 ([JUVENILE #1]). Lastly, Ms. Golden’s throwing of an item retrieved from within [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle into an active lane of vehicle travel posed a potential risk of property damage.

[NARRATIVE #2 on December 21, 2025]

On 12.21.2025 I responded to the area of 5996 Ogeechee Road with Ofc. Meredith in reference to a reported domestic dispute. While arriving on scene, I observed a gold sedan leaving the area. The vehicle left the parking area of the Wendy’s restaurant and turned into the Walmart parking lot at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then came to a stop near the rear of the parking lot once my blue lights and siren were activated. The Driver immediately exited the vehicle without being told. I then instructed the driver to provide me with her identification.

After multiple requests she provided her identification. The female was identified as Shy’geria Golden. She indicated that she was here to get her child and her child’s father has been giving her the run around with the location for pick up. She stated that she was trying to leave with her child and he continuously tried to prevent her from leaving by standing in the door area of her vehicle. Golden stated that every time she tries to get her kid, he tries to set her up. When asked if anything physical occurred she stated that she was pushed. When asked if she was hurt or injured Golden did not respond.

I then spoke with Ofc. Meredith who advised that he had probable cause to take Golden into custody. I then proceeded to a take Golden into custody and stand by for Ofc. Meredith to respond to my location. Custody was handed over to Ofc. Meredith. I then stood by waiting for a driver to recover the vehicle. [REDACTED] arrived on scene and provided identification and took possession of the vehicle.
