On September 12, 2025, at approximately 02:30 hours, I responded to a 911 hang-up call in reference to a possible domestic disturbance at [300 BLOCK] Lewis Drive, Apartment #[REDACTED].

First Call for Service 02:30 hours

Dispatch advised the following prior to my arrival:

A female could be heard screaming, stating “he keeps f***ing…” before the call was disconnected. The female sounded as if she was outside.
The complainant originally provided the address without an apartment number.
When re-contacted, the complainant disconnected the call when asked for her name.
The complainant later called back via 911.

Upon arrival, I made contact with the reporting party, identified as [VICTIM #1].

[VICTIM #1] stated the following:

Her boyfriend, Tahir Postell, came to her apartment and repeatedly asked her questions she did not understand. While she was standing in the kitchen holding a plate, Postell knocked it from her hands, which escalated into a physical altercation between them.

During the altercation, [VICTIM #1]’s nephew came out of the bedroom and attempted to intervene. After some time, Postell asked about his neck chain. [VICTIM #1] stated she told him she did not know its whereabouts, as they were actively fighting.

Postell then took her car keys and cell phone before leaving the apartment.

Postell told [VICTIM #1] he would return the items only if she returned his neck chain and his cell phone, which was later located in the living room.

I was able to contact Postell by phone, and he subsequently returned to the scene. He gave [VICTIM #1] her car keys and cell phone back, while requesting his phone and neck chain. I returned his phone. [VICTIM #1] actively searched for the neck chain but was unable to locate it. I asked Postell to check his own pockets, at which time he located the chain in his possession.

Postell then demanded $2,000 from [VICTIM #1], claiming he had given her that money two days earlier. [VICTIM #1] denied owing him anything, stating he had already received his money back.

I advised Postell to leave the residence and not to return, as he did not live there. Postell claimed it was his residence but could not provide proof. He agreed to leave and stated he would remain outside on the sidewalk in front of the complex.

Second Call for Service 04:18 hours

At approximately 04:18 hours, I was dispatched back to [300 BLOCK] Lewis Drive, Apartment #[REDACTED], for another domestic disturbance.

Dispatch advised the following:
The complainant reported that Postell had returned to the location.
Postell was banging on her window.
The complainant advised that officers had recently left and had warned Postell not to return.

Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1], who confirmed Postell was banging on her window. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate Postell at that time.

Third Call for Service 05:03 hours

At approximately 05:03 hours, I was again dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Lewis Drive, Apartment #[REDACTED], for a domestic disturbance.

Dispatch advised the following:
The complainant reported that Postell had returned.
Postell was allegedly striking her mother.
Postell had come back for his necklace.
A physical altercation was in progress.
The complainant advised Postell may have had an S-20 (possible weapon).

Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1], who provided the following statement:
She was in her bedroom ignoring repeated phone calls from Postell.
Postell returned, broke through the front door, and entered her apartment.
He went into her bedroom, placed both hands around her neck, and began choking her.
She physically fought back to defend herself.
During the altercation, Postell bit her right arm near the elbow.
Postell then began to leave, stating, “I got something for you.”

When [VICTIM #1] came outside to check the door damage, she observed Postell’s parents sitting in a silver sedan. She was unsure if Postell entered the vehicle or went toward the rear of the apartments. [VICTIM #1] reported that Postell left the scene with her cell phone.

I observed visible marks on [VICTIM #1]’s neck as well as a bite mark on her right arm near the elbow. EMS was requested to the scene, but [VICTIM #1] refused medical treatment.

The shift supervisor responded, and Detective Morrow was notified and arrived to take over the investigation.

While I was seated in my patrol vehicle, Sgt. Balmer identified a black male subject matching Postell’s description. Postell was observed holding [VICTIM #1]’s cell phone. Postell was arrested, placed in handcuffs, searched incident to arrest, and secured in the rear of my patrol vehicle.

Postell was charged accordingly:
OCGA 16-5-21 Aggravated Assault
OCGA 16-5-70(d) Cruilty To Children 3rd degree
OCGA 16-7-1 Burglary
OCGA 16-10-24.3 Hindering 911 Call

Officer Thomas took custody of Postell and transported him to the Chatham County Detention Center (CCDC).

A CRN was requested.
