On November 23rd, 2025, at 08:43 hours I was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Chatham Villa Dr. in reference to multiple shots fired.

Upon my arrival on scene, I met with [WITNESS #1] who lives at [300 BLOCK] Chatham Villa Dr. and stated he was in his car parked along the grass when he heard gunshots and saw 2 black males (1 in a blue hoodie, 1 in a grey long sleeve shirt) running in the backyard of [300 BLOCK] Chatham Villa Dr. and jumping a fence to [300 BLOCK] Chatham Villa Dr. [WITNESS #1] noticed a black male in a blue hoodie holding a silver 9mm handgun appearing to be pointing the weapon north. [WITNESS #1] stated he heard a black female screaming at the two males to get into the house.

I made contact with [WITNESS #2] who is the mother of the two black males ([VICTIM #1] & [VICTIM #2]) and they all reside at [300 BLOCK] Chatham Villa Dr. [WITNESS #2] stated that her two sons left to walk to the Parker’s gas station around 08:37 hours. [WITNESS #2] stated just a few minutes passed and she was going to let her dog in from the back door when she heard gunshots and stated, “it sounded like the fourth of July”. [WITNESS #2] stated she observed her two sons climbing over the fence and she was yelling “get in the f*cking house” as gunshots continued. [WITNESS #2] stated the next thing she knew, police were banging on her door.

I separated [VICTIM #1] (Blue hoodie) from other individuals and proceeded to place him into handcuffs which were double locked, true to size and checked for fit, due to possibly being a suspect in the related shooting. [VICTIM #1] was placed inside the back passenger seat of my patrol car. I proceeded to read [VICTIM #1] his Miranda rights, due to needing more information regarding his involvement in the shooting.

[VICTIM #1] waived his rights and agreed to talk to which he stated, he and his brother were walking on Olmstead Dr. and going to the Parker’s gas station when he heard gun shots, he immediately began to run on Jasper Dr. and proceeded to make his was back to Byck Ave. and into the backyard of [300 BLOCK] Chatham Villa Dr. and hopped a fence to his residence all while simultaneously hearing gunshots. [VICTIM #1] stated he did not see any people nor vehicles in the area when gunshots were heard. [VICTIM #1] also stated he did not have a firearm, nor did he see his brother with one.

[VICTIM #2] (Grey hoodie) was read his Miranda rights and chose to waive his rights to which he stated when he and his brother were walking to the store, they heard gunshots and began to start running and jumped the fence at [300 BLOCK] Chatham Villa Dr. back to their residence. [VICTIM #2] stated he did have a firearm, however he didn’t shoot it, but if he did, he acted in self-defense.

A canvas of the area was conducted and positive property damage was found on houses in the area. Ten 7.62 rounds were found next to a pair of black croc shoes which belonged to [VICTIM #2], as well as nine additional 9mm rounds.

Contact was made with [WITNESS #3] who stated he didn’t see anything but heard at least 10 gunshots while he was in his kitchen and, had cameras at the residence which showed a 2021 Kia Sorento (GA: [REDACTED]) traveling at a high rate of speed on Olmstead Dr. around the time that the gunshots were fired. The vehicle was entered into GCIC/NCIC as a BOLO by E9206 Thomas at 14:02 hours.

Detective Villegas was contacted at 09:30 hours and showed up on scene to conducted further investigation. I placed [VICTIM #1] into handcuffs which were double locked and sized to fit. [VICTIM #1] was transported to the Garden City Police Department for further questioning. Ofc. Brooks transported [VICTIM #2] to the Garden City Police Department for further questioning.

Upon arrival, I escorted [VICTIM #1] to the holding cell where he was taken out of handcuffs and waited for further questioning. [VICTIM #2] was taken out of handcuffs and escorted to a separate holding cell where he awaited further questioning from detectives. Both individuals were routinely checked on every 12 minutes.

After further questioning, I transported [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] back to their residence along with Det. Villegas who asked each individual for permission to have their cell phones for further investigation to which the complied but did not give their passcodes. [WITNESS #2], [VICTIM #1], and [VICTIM #2] were given contact information and were told to contact if they receive any additional information.

The 10 7.62 rounds and the 9 9mm rounds were entered into evidence at the Garden City Police Department.
