On August 5, 2023, while on patrol of the Sleep Inn (7206 Ga-21, Port Wentworth, Chatham County, Ga) I observed a Silver Toyota ([REDACTED]/Ga) with two occupants inside. I held out with the vehicle as the occupants were from the area when the tag was run.

I approached the vehicle and could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. I asked the female (Jasmine Reason) occupying the driver seat what they where doing. Reason stated that she and her boyfriend (Willie Weatherspoon) were trying to get a room due to Willie not being able to stay at her mother’s residence.

I asked for driver license in which Reason gave me hers and Willie stated he did not have one. Willie gave me the name of RASHAD JAHBARRI. I returned to my vehicle and asked for another unit. I was able to run Reason license through GCIC/NCIC receiving no hits. I then ran the name RASHAD JAHBARRI through GCIC/NCIC and received notice of no record found. I asked both Reason and Willie to step out of the vehicle as I was going to conduct a search of the vehicle.

When Willie was removed, I asked a second time for the male’s name, and he gave me the same name. While searching the vehicle I found a Cash App card with the name Willie Weatherspoon on it. I also found in the center console a rolled cigarette of green leafy substance. Nothing else was located. I asked who the item belonged to and Willie stated it was his. The item was collected and secured in my patrol vehicle.

I returned to my patrol vehicle where I ran Willie Weatherspoon through GCIC/NCIC and received a picture and warrants for the male. Sgt. Martin called the male Willie and he acknowledge him at that time Sgt. Martin placed him in handcuffs tightened to fit, double locked, searched him, and he was placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle.

Willie has three warrants through Port Wentworth Police Department and one through Garden City Police Department. I retrieved the warrants from Port Wentworth PD (CRN: 230707032) and served Willie with them. He was also charged with giving a false name, and possession of marijuana less than one oz. Reason was released with the vehicle.

Willie was transported to Chatham County Detention Center where he was served by Garden City PD. He was then turned over to jail staff. Copies of his subpoena for the new charges and warrants were placed in his bag. The following item was dropped and logged for evidence.

#1-gram of green rolled cigarette.
