On December 14, 2025, while in my department-issued uniform and operating a properly marked police vehicle, I responded to a domestic violence call at [300 BLOCK] Durham Park Way (251214006).
While inside the residence, conducting an active domestic violence investigation and interviewing a juvenile victim, Mr. Zokomo Anderson, the brother of the arrested subject, entered the residence. Mr. Anderson walked past several officers and proceeded upstairs in a loud and boisterous manner, calling for his juvenile nephew. Mr. Anderson picked up the juvenile and began walking back down the stairs.
Mr. Anderson was given multiple lawful commands to stop and place the juvenile down so officers could determine what was occurring. Mr. Anderson refused to comply with these commands and continued speaking loudly. Mr. Anderson further escalated the situation by verbally engaging the female victim, who was being evaluated by Chatham Emergency Medical Services, while still refusing to place the juvenile down as the juvenile began crying.
Mr. Anderson’s actions disrupted a lawful domestic violence investigation and created a safety concern for officers, the juvenile, and others present. Mr. Anderson was handcuffed and escorted outside the residence. After being advised to calm down, Mr. Anderson continued to speak loudly and behave disorderly outside.
Mr. Anderson’s handcuffs were double-locked, checked for fit, and then he was placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle with the seatbelt fastened. I then transported him to the Chatham County Detention Center, where he was turned over to jail staff without incident.
Mr. Zokomo Anderson was charged with Disorderly Conduct (city ordinance 54-7) and given a Pooler Municipal court date of January 15, 2026, at 10:00 am. He was also given an $800.00 bond.
