On September 26th, I (Officer Kinnamont) was dispatched to a possible domestic dispute at [200 BLOCK] Woodland Ave.

Upon arrival, I saw a white male, Alex Bradshaw, lying on the sidewalk of the apartment complex with his hands covering his face. To his immediate right stood his neighbor, [WITNESS #1], who reported taking a knife away from Alex. [WITNESS #1] pointed to the knife lying about 15 feet away in the grass. At this time, Investigator Strauss and Sergeant Goins arrived on the scene.

I then observed two women, [WITNESS #2] (complainant) and [VICTIM #1] (victim), standing nearby, with [VICTIM #1] holding her face. I noticed redness, swelling, and what seemed to be the onset of bruising. While Investigator Strauss took photos of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries, I asked the women what had happened. [WITNESS #2] explained that Alex “just lost it and began hitting [VICTIM #1] in the face.” I decided to detain Alex until I could determine the full details of the incident. After placing Alex in the back of my patrol vehicle, I asked to speak with [WITNESS #2] to hear her account of the events.

[WITNESS #2] stated they were preparing to take Alex to see his probation officer when [VICTIM #1] arrived to give them a ride. While inside the house, [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #2] discussed taking Alex to the doctor for a psychological evaluation. During the conversation, Alex began arguing with his mother, [WITNESS #2]. When [VICTIM #1] told him not to speak to his mother that way, Alex got up from his bed, shouted, “I’m going to f*ck you up!” and started punching [VICTIM #1] in the face with closed fists.

[WITNESS #2] said she tried to intervene, but Alex grabbed a knife from the kitchen and held the blade to his own throat. When [WITNESS #2] attempted to take the knife, Alex lunged at her with it, causing her to flee into a different room and lock the door. This is when she called 911 and requested assistance.

After speaking with [WITNESS #2], I spoke with [VICTIM #1] about the events. [VICTIM #1] said that she was there to take them their probation meeting and that Alex got upset during their conversation and began punching her in the face.

After speaking to both victims, I asked Alex if that was what had happened. He told me it was, he said he got angry and “just blacked out”.

After this time, I verified Alex’s name and age and placed him under arrest. I then transported him to the Chattooga County Jail without incident.
