On date and time listed; Vehicle 2 was traveling north on Hwy 114 when Vehicle 1 pulled through traffic and into the path of the vehicle. Vehicle 2 struck Vehicle 1 in the side. Vehicle 1 continued into the parking lot of Ingles then stopped. A white male then exited the vehicle and inspected the damage. He then Yelled at the driver of Vehicle 2 and made an obscene gesture with his hand. The subject then sat back in Vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 then left the scene via the Rome blvd exit of the Ingles parking lot.

Witness [WITNESS #1] witnessed the accident and immediately contacted law enforcement. [WITNESS #1] followed the vehicle long enough to retrieve a license plate number and provide it to law enforcement.

On 4-26-2026 Det. Cox was able to locate Driver of vehicle 1 at her residence in Alabama. Driver of vehicle 1 stated that she was south bound on Hwy. 114 inside lane and had stopped to turn left into Ingle’s. Driver 1 states that a vehicle in the inside North bound hwy. 114 the lane motioned for her to turn and left a gap for her.

Driver 1 states that she then turned left and was struck in the passenger side by vehicle 2 whom was North bound on Hwy. 114 in the outside lane. Driver 1 states that vehicle 2 was speeding. Driver 1 states that she then stopped in front of motel in the Ingles parking lot.

Det. Cox asked Driver 1 why she not call 911 and she replied that she didn’t really know who to call. Driver 1 stated that she has had some discomfort in her stomach area as a result of the accident. Det. Cox advised her that she might want to seek medical attention to get checked out.
