On above date and time I Deputy A. Garmany #14 was dispatched to above location in reference to a domestic between two females, a mother and daughter.

I arrived on scene and met with the suspect later identified as Brittany McRae whom sitting on the front porch holding her one year old son later identified as [VICTIM #1]. While on scene I asked the suspect what occurred today between her and her mother. The Suspect stated that she and her mother had gotten into an argument in front of her son about some unknown issue between the father of her son and her mother doing narcotics together and sleeping together.

The suspect continued talking about things that were not making sense and then stated that her mother was yelling and screaming at her and had spit in her mouth. The suspect then stated that her mother has Hep-C and when she spit in her mouth that drew the line and she attacked her mother by throwing a sippy cup at her.

I asked Chattooga County E911 to send me another unit for back up and to stand by with the suspect while I spoke with the victim who was inside later identified as [VICTIM #2]. At this time Officer T. Railey #211 arrived on scene and stood by with the suspect while I spoke with the victim.

As I walked into the residence I observed the inside of the kitchen area had obvious signs that a physical altercation took place due to blood spots in the floor and on baby equipment, the kitchen table appeared to have been moved with force across the kitchen against the sliding glass door and chairs to the table were flipped over.

I made contact with the victim in the kitchen who stated that she was talking to the suspect about her medication that she is supposed to be taking for her mental health issues, the victim continued stating this issue had all started the night before and continued into today.

The victim stated that the suspect started slurring her words, spitting in her face and getting in her face while holding her one year old son in her arms. The victim stated that she told the Suspect to stop slurring her and turned around to walk away from the Suspect to let things just calmed down and the Victim stated it was at this time the suspect attacked her and struck her with a sippy cup and the two started fight and fell into the floor of the kitchen where the table was located while the Suspect was still holding her one year son.

I advised Chattooga County E911 to have the On-Call Chattooga County DFACS Worker to place me a public service reference to the one year child being involved in the physical altercation. [REDACTED] contact me and I advised her of the incident and she advised that she would have someone en route shortly.

I ran the suspect and the victim’s information on my in car computer and noticed that the Suspect had an outstanding warrant through Chattooga County for Non-Support of Parent. I then contacted the Chattooga County Jail and had them get the warrant in hand and advised Chattooga County E911 to run the information that I had of the Victim and the Suspect. I also advised Chattooga County E911 that I was familiar with the active warrant on the Suspect and that I already spoke to the Jail and they have it in hand.

I then walked back up to the residence and advised Ofc. T. Railey of the active warrant. As I we were waiting on DFACS to arrived on scene the Suspect made it very clear that she was not going to let the Victim have her son and she kept hold her son in a way to prevent us from taken her into custody.

At this time [REDACTED] with Chattooga County DFACS arrived on scene and I advised her of the incident and that the Suspect was not going peacefully with her child in her arms. Mrs. [REDACTED] advised that she would talk to the Suspect and get the child out of harms way.

Myself and Ofc. Railey stood by with Mrs. [REDACTED] as she talked to the suspect and we position ourselves to as soon as the child was out of harms way we could take the suspect into custody peacefully.

Mrs. [REDACTED] asked the Suspect if she could hold the child and the suspect agreed and as soon as Mrs. [REDACTED] had the child out of harms way Myself and Ofc. Railey took the Suspect into custody without incident.

At this time Deputy J. Claxton #12 along with Cpl. J. Wilks #04 arrived on scene and the suspect was placed into Deputy Claxton’s patrol vehicle and Deputy Claxton transport the suspect to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident while I stayed on scene with DFACS as they were getting a safety plan in place and gather a witness statement from the victim.
