On June 9th, 2026, at approximately 0153 hours, I, Deputy Matt Wilson, was dispatched to [4300 BLOCK] Highway 114 in reference to a subject refusing to leave the residence and reportedly yelling and being boisterous. 911 advised that [REDACTED] and Brooke Maddux were bothering [VICTIM #1], and that this was an ongoing issue.

Upon arrival, I pulled onto Hamp Brewer Circle in front of the residence and exited my patrol vehicle. I observed a female standing in the roadway talking to herself and walking toward me at a fast pace. I observed the females behavior as she approached. I asked the female if she was the person I needed to speak with; however, she continued to mutter unintelligible statements, and I was unsure what she was saying. The female looked at me and appeared as though she may run toward me, then stopped and said,”Oh.”

I approached the female as she began walking toward the residence at [4300 BLOCK] Highway 114, where the original complaint originated.

I attempted several times to ask the female if she was okay and instructed her to calm down. The female displayed behavior consistent with impairment, including dilated pupils, which, based on my training and experience, are commonly associated with stimulant use. The female was sweating profusely despite the cool outdoor temperature. She was observed talking to herself and making incoherent statements that were difficult to understand. She was unable to remain still and appeared to have limited control over her motor skills and body movements. Based on my training and experience, these indicators are commonly observed in individuals under the influence of a stimulant.

I continued attempting to de-escalate the situation and asked the female what was wrong. She stated that her son was inside the residence and that she needed to get him out because he was going to be killed. I advised her that if she did not calm down, she would be placed in handcuffs. She refused to comply, and as I attempted to place her in handcuffs, she began to resist by pulling away and refusing to allow me to secure both hands.

The female refused to follow lawful commands issued by the reporting officer and actively resisted being taken into custody. As a result, the female was escorted to the ground using the minimum force necessary to gain compliance and was subsequently placed in handcuffs.

After securing the female, I was able to identify her as Brooke Maddux after asking several times for her name. I assisted Brooke to her feet and escorted her to the rear of my patrol vehicle.

I then spoke with the complainant, identified as [VICTIM #1]. She stated that Brooke had been with her grandson [REDACTED] prior to officers arrival and that they were both knocking on the door, refusing to leave, yelling, and scaring her to the point that she feared for her safety. [VICTIM #1] and another family member, a juvenile male, stated that Brooke’s behavior appeared to be due to her wanting pain medication from inside the residence. I concluded my conversation with [VICTIM #1].

Based on Brooke’s behavior and due to the jail facility being full, as well as court being scheduled the following day, I requested E911 to have EMS respond to evaluate Brooke. EMS arrived, and personnel asked Brooke if she wished to go to the hospital. She stated that she did. I allowed Brooke to be transported by EMS.

I then returned to service without further incident.
