On above date and time I, Deputy A. Garmany #14 along with Deputy J. Claxton #12, Trooper. T. Gant #865, and Cpl. J. Wilks #04 were dispatched to above location reference to a physcial altercation domestic between male and female.
When Myself and Cpl. Wilks arrived on scene Trooper Gant was already on scene. While we were exiting our patrol vehicles the Complainant/Victim later identified as [VICTIM #1] stated that when Trooper Gant arrived on scene her Boyfriend/Suspect later identified as Dakota Gilreath jumped out the back window of their residence and took off down the hill behind their residence and Trooper Gant began chasing him telling him stop.
Myself and Cpl. Wilks took off walking down the hill in the direction the victim stated she saw them run and as we were inside the woodline at the bottom of the hill to the right side of the property we made contact with Trooper Gant who stated that he lost sight of the subject when they crossed the creek at the bottom of the hill. We made our way back up the hill to the residence where the victim was located at. I advised other units just to ride the area and see if they could locate the suspect while I gathered information from the victim.
I spoke with the vicitm and she advised me this incident stated because he was out of narcotics and when he gets like this he starts thinking that she is cheating on him with other men. The victim stated the suspect started hitting her and chased her down the roadway and slammed her to the ground and began strangling her to the point that she could not breath and right before she was going to blackout he would release the pressure and then start choking her again.
The Victim stated he done this about three to four times along with hitting her in her face stating to her “Remember I’m the one your momma warned you about.” “This why she warned you.” The victim stated this was not the first time this has happened and I advised the Victim I was familiar that I was actually the last Deputy that responded to a similiar incident a few months back.
The Victim advised the Suspect that she was calling 911 and leaving the residence and leaving him. She stated the Suspect went inside the residence and started throwing her belongings outside of the residence and breaking several of her items as he was throwing them outside. The Victim stated the Suspect was inside the residence when Trooper Grant arrived and advised that he dove out the kitchen window and that was when the Trooper took off running after the Suspect telling him to stop.
The Victim gathered the rest of her belongings and called a friend to come pick her up along with her belongings. I advised the Victim of the domestic violence resources and joined the other units in locating the male suspect with no other further findings.
