On November 30, 2025, at approximately 0058 hours, I was dispatched to [50 BLOCK] Saratoga Way, Apartment [REDACTED], regarding a physical domestic disturbance in progress. Prior to my arrival, E-911 radio traffic advised that the caller reported being struck multiple times with a frying pan.
Upon arrival, I observed a male subject (later identified as the victim, [VICTIM #1]) exiting the apartment with his back initially toward law enforcement. Visible injuries were immediately apparent on the right side of his face, including multiple lacerations, significant swelling, and raised contusions consistent with being struck by an object.
A second male subject then exited the residence wearing a shirt with visible blood on it. He was identified as Jeremy Rich. Rich was detained without incident and placed in handcuffs for officer safety. While being handcuffed, Rich spontaneously stated, without prompting, “I beat him” in reference to the victim.
Due to the visible injuries to [VICTIM #1] and Rich’s apparent disorientation, I requested EMS response to the scene. Both subjects were evaluated by medics. [VICTIM #1] and Rich refused further medical treatment and transport; both were subsequently cleared and released back to law enforcement by EMS.
I read Jeremy Rich his Miranda warnings verbatim from a department-issued card. Rich acknowledged that he understood his rights but invoked his right to remain silent and declined to provide a statement.
Victim Statement ([VICTIM #1]): [VICTIM #1] stated that he was asleep inside the apartment when he was suddenly awakened by being struck in the face with a table lamp. He reported that Rich struck him multiple times with the lamp until it broke. Once the lamp shattered, Rich immediately retrieved a metal skillet from the kitchen and continued striking him in the head and face with it until law enforcement arrived.
Based on:
- Rich’s spontaneous admission of “I beat him,”
- The nature and severity of [VICTIM #1]’s visible injuries,
- [VICTIM #1]’s consistent account of the assault with two separate dangerous weapons (lamp and skillet),
Jeremy Rich was placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault – Family Violence (O.C.G.A. § 16-5-21).
Rich was transported to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident and booked accordingly.
Charges:
- Aggravated Assault – Family Violence (Felony)
Disposition: Subject in custody at Chattooga County Jail.
