On January 12th, 2026, at approximately 0144 hours, Chattooga E911 asked me to call Floyd Hospital Rome in reference to a possible assault that had occurred at [400 BLOCK] Back Penn Road Apartment [REDACTED], Summerville, GA, 30747.
Upon placing the phone call, I spoke with [WITNESS #1], an ER nurse for Floyd Hospital, who advised me that an [VICTIM #1] subject had entered the ER with a chief complaint of assault-related injuries to her face, legs and abdomen. I was advised that this incident had occurred previously this date and Ms. [VICTIM #1] had been taken to a room to be seen. Nurse [WITNESS #1] advised me that Ms. [VICTIM #1] was 9 weeks pregnant and that was the primary reason for going straight to the hospital. I then asked to speak with Ms. [VICTIM #1].
Upon speaking with Ms. [VICTIM #1], she informed me that her ex-boyfriend, whom she currently resides with, Joshua Evans, had been drinking and she went by the apartment at approximately 0038 hours to grab some clothes for work. When she arrived, Mr. Evans and she got into a verbal altercation, and he hit Ms. [VICTIM #1] in the stomach and pushed her to the ground. Ms. [VICTIM #1] then went straight to the hospital. When asked why she didn’t call 911 immediately, Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was worried about her unborn child. I advised Ms. [VICTIM #1] that if she was able to meet with me, that I would like to get pictures of her injuries, to which she agreed.
On January 12th, 2026, at approximately 0330 hours, I met with Ms. [VICTIM #1] at the Chattooga County Jail. She showed me the injuries that she had received, which were: slight abrasions to both knees, slight abrasion under her right eye, and she appeared to have slight bruising under both eyes. I took pictures of these injuries and she informed me that there were no issues with her unborn child, and that she was unsure of other injuries at this time. I informed her that I would file a report for her, however she needed to go through the proper steps to get away from Mr. Evans, as she informed me that this was not the first incident between them.
I then left the scene with no further incident.
Warrants will be taken for Mr. Evans
