On August 11th 2026 at 1607 hours I, Deputy J. Claxton was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] North Ridge Estates in reference to a physical domestic between two males, while en-route Chattooga County E-911 advised me that one subject had a knife. When I arrived on scene I observed two males screaming and yelling at each other.
I then gained control of the scene and separated both parties, I then spoke with the victim that was identified as [VICTIM #1]. I asked him what had happened today and he stated that his little brother Jayden Barnett has not been taking his medication. He stated that he told Jayden someone called for him on the phone and Jayden went crazy jumped on top of him and started strangling him with his hands, I observed his neck had a hand shaped red mark around the throat/neck area. At this time, Cpl. Wilks arrived on scene and I advised him to place the other subject in handcuffs, Cpl. Wilks placed Jayden Barnett in handcuffs double locking them and checking for proper fitting. Cpl. Wilks then placed Mr. Barnett in the rear passenger side of my patrol vehicle.
While on scene Cpl. Wilks then spoke to the mother of both parties she was identified as [WITNESS #1]. While speaking to Ms. [WITNESS #1] She stated that Jayden jumped on [VICTIM #1] and started choking him and it was unprovoked.
I then read Mr. Barnett his Marinda Warning where he agreed to speak to me. I asked him what had occurred he stated that [VICTIM #1] stated that he was going to kill him and he defended himself. I then advised him that he was going to placed under arrest at this time. The offender was then transported him to the Chattooga County Jail where I turned him over to jail staff. I then filled out an warrantless arrest on Mr. Barnett charging him with Aggravated Assault.
