On Monday the date of 05-11-2026 at the time of approximately 1704 hours I, Cpl. Villagomez SO 05, placed a phone call to Mr. [VICTIM #1] and Ms. [VICTIM #2] in regards to a shooting that occured last Wednesday the date of 05-06-2026 at the time of around 2230 hours at BJ’s FoodMart.
During speaking with Mr. [VICTIM #1] he reported that back on Wednesday the date of 05-06-2026 at the time of around 2230 hours or so his Girlfriend, Ms. [VICTIM #2], and him were at the BJ’s Food Mart in Lyerly. As they were leaving the store some group of younger gentleman began to curse at them according to Ms. [VICTIM #2]. They reported that as they were leaving the store they heard what sounded like a gunshot towards them but continued on.
Today on 5-11-2026 Mr. [VICTIM #1] discovered a bullet hole in his truck on the front, Left fender area along with what he described as a bullet. He was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado with no tag at the time. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that he just realized the hole in his truck today as to why he waited so long to report the incident when questioned.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that one of the gentleman’s name was Ricky Hawkins but didn’t know the others. They reported that the store had Video Surveillance I advised him I would have a report on file with the Sheriff’s Office and turn the matter over to the Investigations Division for insight. Both parties reside in Alabama.
