On Wednesday January 28, 2026 at approximately 1650 hours complainant, [WITNESS #1] and his wife, [WITNESS #2], reported that their daughter, Samantha Reece, had abused their juvenile grandson [JUVENILE #1]. They also stated that Samantha had picked juvenile [JUVENILE #1] up from his school today and was possibly intoxicated. Juvenile [JUVENILE #1] had called them and they retrieved him from Samantha’s residence. They also said that Samantha has another child at her residence [JUVENILE #2], who is 5 years old and has special needs.
I spoke with juvenile [JUVENILE #1] and he stated that his mother picked him up from his school, Leroy Massey Elementary School, and appeared intoxicated. He said that he knows this because he has seen his mother intoxicated in the past. He said that he questioned his mother about some money that he had left in her car and this upset her.
When they arrived home he seen his mother trying to hide a “Tito’s bottle of alcohol.” This led to an altercation and his mother struck him several times about his chest and torso. I observed and photographed visible injuries on his chest and both sides of his torso. He said that his mother also threw him to the floor and cursed him calling him a “n*gger.” She also told him that she wished he had never been born.
At approximately 1810 hours, I, Deputy Jackie Womack, along with Chief Deputy Kevin Woods and Deputy Ben Mollohan, traveled to the residence of Samantha Reece located at [400 BLOCK] Bryant Road, Trion, Georgia. Upon arrival, myself and Deputy Mollohan went to the front door. I knocked several times and eventually Mrs. Reece came to the front door, but would not open the door. She was clearly intoxicated. I explained that we were there to check on the welfare of her son, [JUVENILE #2] several times. She eventually opened the door and allowed deputies inside.
Once inside the residence I observed her son, [JUVENILE #2], sitting on the couch. I then tried to ask Mrs. Reece about the altercation with her son, [JUVENILE #1]. She evaded the questions and I eventually advised her that she was under arrest for Child Abuse. Deputies tried to arrest her and she physically resisted by pulling away. She then picked her son up to act as a shield from being arrested. Chief Deputy Woods took the child from her and removed the child from the area.
Deputy Ty Hutchins had arrived at the scene by this point. I along with Deputy Mollohan and Hutchins tried to place Mrs. Reece in handcuffs. She started violently resisting by pulling away. We took her to the ground and eventually placed her in cuffs. While on the ground she was trying to kick us and attempted to bite my leg. She then was freed one of her hands from the cuffs. We had to struggle with her again to place her back in cuffs. She again began kicking, screaming and trying to bite us. During this struggle Deputy Mollohan received a visible injury to his arm. We walked Mrs. Reece to my patrol vehicle and placed her in the back seat.
I then transported Mrs. Reece to the Chattooga County Jail. Chief Deputy Woods remained at the residence until [REDACTED], father of the child, arrived. Juvenile [JUVENILE #2] was turned to his father.
While enroute to the jail Mrs. Reece cursed me, banged her head and kicked my door windows. When we arrived at the jail detention officers were waiting on her arrival. The detention officers along with other deputies had to physically restrain her to process her into the jail.
