On the above date, at approximately 0053hrs, I responded to a domestic dispute at the Microtel (305 Molly Ln). The complainant, front desk employee [REDACTED], advised dispatch that there was a female in room [REDACTED] who was yelling in the hallway, “give me my kids.” Dispatch stated that [REDACTED] believed that someone walked out of the side door of Microtel near room [REDACTED] after the yelling.

Upon arriving on scene at approximately 0054hrs, I met with the complainant, who advised me that the female standing in the lobby was the one screaming about her kids. At this time, Sergeant Alleyne arrived on scene as well. Myself and Sgt. Alleyne went over to the female (identified by name and DOB of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/04 as Glenisha Langford) to ask what was going on. Glenisha did not initially seem anxious or panicked. She stated that her mother [WITNESS #1] and her mother’s fiance [WITNESS #2] had taken the kids away and left the room they were renting (room [REDACTED]). Glenisha stated that she had three children [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and she has full custody of them. I asked if they had Glenisha’s permission to take the children, and she said no. Then, I asked what happened tonight.

Glenisha told me that [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] are renting room [REDACTED], and are letting the kids and Glenisha stay there for the time being. Glenisha said that [WITNESS #1] got angry and told Glenisha that she needed to leave the Microtel after they had an argument about one of the room windows being left open. Glenisha said that she gathered her belongings and was going to leave with her kids. She then stated that as she was trying to leave, “things got physical.” I asked Glenisha what she meant by that, and she stated that [WITNESS #1] choked her, kicked her pregnant stomach, and punched her. I asked Glenisha for details of how she was choked, kicked, and punched, and she stated that she was unsure and could not remember. When I asked where this occurred, she said [WITNESS #1] dragged her from the hallway back into the motel room. I asked Glenisha if she needed medical treatment, to which she stated no. Glenisha said that she went back inside the room, and that was when [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] took the children and left the Microtel.

At this time, Glenisha stated that she wanted her cell phone, so myself and Sgt. Alleyne followed her to the room. When we entered room [REDACTED], I immediately noticed that the room was completely disheveled. There were clothes and other items thrown all around the room, along with dirty trash cans, dirty sheets, and two beds inside the room. I noticed that there were no child clothes, diapers, or any visible food in the room. The room was in such disarray that it was nearly impossible to walk around. The bathroom had dirt and grime all over it as well. The living condition of the room appeared to be dangerous for children to live in. Also, there were only two beds for three adults and three children to sleep in.

Next, I looked at security footage at the Microtel in the hallway directly in front of room [REDACTED]. A jump drive of this footage has been placed into evidence. On the footage, I saw two females ([WITNESS #1] and Glenisha) in the hallway yelling at each other. I did not at any point witness any physical contact or altercation in the footage where Glenisha initially alleged the fight occurred. Then, I saw [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] take the children out the side door and leave the motel.

I then took a look at Glenisha to see if I saw any marks or bruises that would indicate a physical altercation occurring. I looked at Glenisha’s arms, hands, stomach, and face, and did not see any marks or bruising. I continued to ask Glenisha the same questions again, as the evidence I saw did not align with what she was stating occurred. This time, Glenisha said the fight happened inside the room. She again stated that she could not remember what happened very well. At about this time, I was notified that Glenisha had history of a previous arrest in 2023 for giving a false report about a domestic disturbance in a previous case. This information was obtained through a police database, P2P.

Sgt. Alleyne was able to make contact with [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] via [WITNESS #1]’s cell phone number. [WITNESS #1] was shocked, gasping on the phone when Sgt. Alleyne explained that Glenisha was alleging that her children were kidnapped and that there was a physical altercation between her and [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated that there was no physical altercation at any point. She stated that she got home from work, walked into the room, and found Glenisha asleep while the children were being unattended to and unsupervised. [WITNESS #1] said that she was frustrated that Glenisha had not been taking care of her children, and that the room was completely destroyed when she got home. [WITNESS #1] advised me that Glenisha does not have a job, so [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] work all day and then do DoorDash at night to provide for the children, because she is concerned for their well-being, as Glenisha does not provide for them. [WITNESS #1] told me that she got into a verbal argument in the hallway with Glenisha, and took the children to go get food, diapers, and to do DoorDash. [WITNESS #1] said she was concerned when she got home because the children said they had not eaten since [WITNESS #1] left for work, other than some snacks that [WITNESS #1] left for the kids. The six-year old told [WITNESS #1] that Glenisha would not take care of them, so she tried to find food to feed her younger two siblings. [WITNESS #1] also said that the kids had no clean diapers when she got home.

All of [WITNESS #1]’s testimony was corroborated by the video footage from Microtel. There were no marks or bruises on [WITNESS #1], [WITNESS #2], or any of th children. At this time, Glenisha was asked to provide a written statement explaining what happened tonight. Glenisha provided a written statement which has been placed into evidence. The written statement that she provided does not corroborate the security footage or [WITNESS #1]’s testimony.

At approximately 0236hrs, Glenisha was arrested for false report of a crime and cruelty to children in the first degree (three counts). Handcuffs were double-locked and checked for fit. Glenisha was searched incident to arrest and secured in the back of my patrol vehicle with a seatbelt. Glenisha was transported to Cherokee ADC without incident. Her handcuffs were removed from ADC personnel and returned to me. All necessary paperwork was turned over to ADC personnel.

Glenisha’s children were placed into the custody of [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2]. A DFCS referral will be made, with the recommendation that [WITNESS #1] gain custody of the children for their well-being.

Warrants TBT. All evidence has been placed into evidence lockers at WPD.
