[NARRATIVE #1 on August 21, 2025]

On 8/21/2025 at approximately 1:29PM, I was dispatched to 5879 Yellow Creek Road (Citgo) in reference to a hit and run. The caller, [VICTIM #1], advised a male in a white Hyundai (GA #[REDACTED]) hit his Ford Mustang then left the scene without exchanging information. The caller advised the vehicle fled South on Yellow Creek Road. I was nearby on Roscoe Collette Road when the call came out and I patrolled for the suspect vehicle while en route.

I arrived on scene and met with the caller, [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised he pulled into the Citgo gas station and let his wife out to go inside to get water. The white Hyundai Santa Fe then backed out of a backing spot and struck [VICTIM #1]’s driver’s side door. [VICTIM #1] got out and spoke with the driver. The driver told [VICTIM #1] he needed to call his grandmother and then fled out of the parking lot South on Yellow Creek Road. [VICTIM #1] was able to take a picture of the license plate (GA # [REDACTED]) and a picture of the side of the driver’s head/face. I gathered [VICTIM #1]’s information and provided him a case card for the accident report.

The tag [REDACTED] had a nearby address of [20 BLOCK] Rebel Way, Dawsonville, GA, and was registered to [REDACTED]. I had Dawson County Sheriff’s Office meet me at that address in order to locate the suspect. The vehicle was not on scene at [20 BLOCK] Rebel Way. I met with the registered owner [REDACTED] and confirmed she owned a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe.

[REDACTED] stated her grandson, Nick Hawkins, was currently driving the vehicle. I asked her if she had Nick’s phone number and she stated she did not. I asked her if she knew Nick’s date of birth and she stated she did not. [REDACTED] advised she did not know where Nick was and did not have a way to contact him. [REDACTED] was aware that Nick did not have a valid license however allows him to drive the car. Dawson County was familiar with Nicholas Hawkins and was able to provide me with his information. Upon running Nicholas through NCIC/GCIC it showed he had a suspended driver’s license. I checked Flock and there were no hit’s on 8/21/25.

I decided to secure an arrest warrant for Nicholas Hawkins for Hit and Run (striking the victim’s vehicle then leaving the scene) and for Driving with a Suspended License (leaving the scene on Yellow Creek Road with a suspended license).

Arrest Warrant #CE0142565 was secured on 8/21/2025.

[NARRATIVE #2 on October 04, 2025]

On October 4th, 2025, while patrolling Yellow Creek Road, I observed a white Hyundai Santa Fe (GA Tag: [REDACTED]) pull onto Roscoe Collett Road. It was driven by a white male, but it was registered to a female named [REDACTED]. I began to follow the vehicle, and it immediately turned down [600 BLOCK] Roscoe Collett Road, which is a known drug distributer. I continued down several yards and pulled into a driveway and began looking up the vehicle’s license plate in Peregrine.

I found a case involving a recent Hit and Run/ driving with a suspended license incident on Yellow Creek, involving the same vehicle. It was alleged that it was driven by a Nicholas Hawkins and a warrant was issued. I entered Nicholas’ information into GCIC and discovered two separate warrants, one out of Dawson, and one out of Cherokee County. The photo ID for Nicholas matched the male driver in the same vehicle that he was allegedly driving.

The Hyundai pulled out of the driveway at [600 BLOCK] Roscoe Collett after several minutes and I conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. I approached the driver’s side and met with the sole occupant of the vehicle, confirmed to be Nicholas Hawkins. I informed him he had a warrant, and he was cooperative during the entire traffic stop. I secured him in handcuffs behind his back and checked for proper fit before double locking them. His license was still suspended so I informed him he was under arrest and searched him incident to arrest. I placed him in the back seat of my patrol car and waited for backup to arrive. Nicholas gave me consent to search the vehicle. No contraband was located.

The owner of the vehicle, [REDACTED], arrived on the scene and took possession of it. I then transported Nicholas to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. We arrived at the ADC without issue and I executed the arrest warrant.
