[NARRATIVE #1 on December 16, 2025]
I, Officer M. Smith, was dispatched to Jiles Rd and Main St on 12/16/2025 at approximately 1200 hours in reference to a hit and run accident.
Upon arrival I made contact with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated she was turning left onto Jiles Rd from 3070 N Main St, Desktop. [VICTIM #1] stated she observed an approaching Toyota Rav4 which was on Jiles Rd in the right turn lane with its right turn signal activated approaching Main St. [VICTIM #1] stated she initiated her left turn onto Jiles Rd with the intention of entering the center straight lane. [VICTIM #1] stated she was mid turn when the listed Toyota Rav4 struck her listed Volkswagen Tiguan. [VICTIM #1] stated after the collision, the Toyota Rav4 fled the scene by turning right onto Old 41 Hwy.
I observed disabling damage to the right side center of the Volkswagen Tiguan and multiple side airbags deployed.
While speaking with [VICTIM #1] a witness, [WITNESS #1], arrived on scene. [WITNESS #1] advised he did not observe the collision, but he did observe the immediate aftermath as well as the Toyota Rav4 fleeing the scene. [WITNESS #1] stated he followed the Toyota Rav4 initially into Swift Cantrell Park, 3140 Old 41 Hwy, and eventually to [1100 BLOCK] Kennesaw Springs Dr where the vehicle was parked in the garage. [WITNESS #1] stated he observed an older female, possibly Hispanic, driving the Toyota Rav4.
I was arrived at [1100 BLOCK] Kennesaw Springs Dr and made contact with Adriana Padilha. Adriana only spoke Spanish so she called her husband, [REDACTED], to translate. Adriana stated she driving to Publix, 2774 Cobb Pkwy, to pick up food for her birthday. Adriana stated she was stopped in traffic waiting for the traffic signal to turn green. Adriana stated once the traffic signal turned green she began to accelerate. Adriana stated as she began accelerating, [VICTIM #1]’s Volkswagen Tiguan turned left in front of her and struck her Toyota Rav4. Adriana stated she fled the scene because she did not have a valid driver’s license. Adriana provided her full name and date of birth and I confirmed she did not have a valid driver’s license via Kennesaw Police Dispatch.
I advised Adriana she was under arrest and placed her in handcuffs, which were checked for proper fit and double locked. Adriana was searched incident to arrest, yielding no contraband, by Officer Traore.
I transported Adriana to the Kennesaw Police Department where she was turned over to Transport Officer Calzada. I issued Adriana citations for Hit and Run-Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Damage (OCGA 40-6-270) and Failure to Obtain a GA Driver’s License (OCGA 40-5-20).
[VICTIM #1] and Adriana were provided a case number.

[NARRATIVE #2 on December 16, 2025]
On 12/16/2025 at approximately 1320 hours, I, Transporting Officer Calzada, met with Officer M. Smith at 2529 J.O. Stephenson Avenue to facilitate the transport of Adriana Padilha. Upon arrival, Transport Officer Wylie activated his department-issued body-worn camera and assumed custody of Padilha and her personal property. She was handcuffed to the rear, and the restraints were checked for proper fit and double-locked for safety. A search of Padilha for weapons and contraband was conducted with negative results.
Padilha was then escorted to the transport van and secured in the left rear passenger area. Transport Officer Wylie’s department issued body cam was on during the process. The rear door was closed and locked. Due to the absence of seat belts in the rear of the transport van, Padilha was then instructed to hold onto the blue safety strap affixed to the interior wall for the duration of the transport.
Padilha was transported without incident to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. Upon arrival, she was released to jail staff along with all required documentation. A search of the transport van’s passenger compartment was conducted both before and after the transport, and no contraband was located. Transport Officer Wylie’s department issued body cam was activated prior to departure from 2529 J.O. Stephenson Avenue.
