Update: The Atlanta Braves began spring training in Florida on Wednesday, February 19, with a team meeting led by manager Brian Snitker. After participating in batting, fielding, and other exercises on the field, players devoted some time to interacting with fans and signing autographs.
COBB COUNTY, Ga. – The time has arrived for spring training to begin for the Atlanta Braves at CoolToday Park in Venice, Florida. While only catchers and pitchers were required to attend on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, with position players starting on February 18, most team members planned to arrive early and support their teammates.
Staff will likely mark the beginning of training camp by focusing on pitchers due to recent injuries and player departures. Pitchers who have parted ways with the Braves include Charlie Morton, who transferred to the Baltimore Orioles, and Max Fried, who joined the New York Yankees.
Spencer Strider, who is recovering from elbow surgery, is beginning the season injured. The team’s general manager, Alex Anthopoulos, is considering his options and welcomed the recent addition of outfielder Jurickson Profar.
Seven consecutive postseason stints failed to earn the Braves a playoff series win since they achieved the World Series title in 2021.
This year’s spring training series includes the most games available to be viewed by fans, with 26 of the 30 games streaming or being broadcast on cable or local television channels. The first game will be held at 1:05 PM ET on Saturday, February 22, against the Minnesota Twins in Minnesota, and the final game wraps up in Chicago at 4:05 PM ET on Tuesday, March 25, against the Chicago Cubs.
CoolToday Park is located on S. West Villages Parkway in Venice, Florida.
