[NARRATIVE #1 on December 22, 2025]
On 12/22/2025 at approximately 0109 hours, I, Officer Moore and PTO Ange, were dispatched to [4000 BLOCK] Carmel Court, in refence to a suspicious person. Dispatch advised the complainant stated that a male was looking at her through her window and threatening her with a gun. Dispatch stated the complainant advised the subject is her ex-boyfriend Jameel Newsome. Dispatch advised the complaint said the subject is on foot.
Upon arrival, I contacted the complainant, later identified as [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated she was sitting in her room, when she heard someone banging on her window. [VICTIM #1] advised she saw a person in a dark hoodie/jacket and blue and white addidas pants. [VICTIM #1] said he was yelling at her to call a female named “[REDACTED]”. [VICTIM #1] advised she called her friend, “[REDACTED]”.
[VICTIM #1] stated while talking on the phone with “[REDACTED],” the subject pulled a gun out and held it to the window. [VICTIM #1] stated she felt threatened by Jameel Newsome. [VICTIM #1] advised she wanted to press charges. [VICTIM #1]’s mother, identified as [VICTIM #2] advised she wanted Jameel Newsome to be criminally trespassed from the property. [NARRATIVE #2 on December 22, 2025]
On Monday, December 22nd, 2025, at approximately 0109 hours, I, Officer Burns, responded to the area of [4000 BLOCK] Carmel Court in reference to a person armed. Kennesaw Police Dispatch advised a male had approached a window of the residence and tapped a firearm on the glass, threatening a resident. I knew from previous cases in the area that a male, Jameel Newsome, had broken up with a female that resided at [4000 BLOCK] Carmel Court and is also wanted for numerous felony warrants.
Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #2], who showed me the exact window that Newsome had approached and tapped on with the firearm. [VICTIM #2] advised that this occurred approximately 10 to 15 minutes prior to our arrival.
Due to Newsome’s numerous felony warrants and the allegation of him being armed and dangerous, I decided to deploy my trained and certified K-9, Halo, to track for Newsome. I deployed Halo near the window of the residence and we began tracking westward towards Amberly Green. Halo tracked to the address of [4000 BLOCK] Amberly Green, where he head-snapped to a gray slipper in the grass.
Halo then began tracking south-west, where he located an additional gray slipper in the front yard of [4000 BLOCK] Amberly Green. Halo continued to track across Dresden Green, into the backyard of [2100 BLOCK] Dresden Green, and then out of the front entrance of the subdivision towards Baker Road. Halo crossed over Baker Road onto Jiles Way, and tracked southwards approximately 250 feet before cutting back westward down into the woods behind the business of 3925 Jiles Road, Tidal Wave Auto Spa.
Halo tracked onto the railroad tracks and began tracking southbound on the railroad tracks for approximately 1000 feet. Halo then lifted his head and head-snapped towards the wood line to the east, in the direction of 2065 Baker Road, United Contractor Services. Halo entered the wood-line eastward and tracked to an 8-foot chain link fence. Halo continually bracketed the chain link fence signaling Newsome possibly jumped over the fence. I was unable to navigate the fence and a drone was requested to check the area. A Cobb County Police Officer arrived on scene with an infrared drone and began canvassing the area Newsome was believed to be. A possible heat signature was observed on the west-ward side of the railroad tracks that Halo had tracked to, but it was unable to be located and verified.
The track was called off and I returned Halo to my patrol vehicle.
I canvassed the area of the Winterset Subdivision and observed a camera at [2100 BLOCK] Dresden Green that may have captured Newsome fleeing the area.

[NARRATIVE #3 on December 24, 2025]
On 12/24/2025, at approximately 2350 hours, I, Officer Jones, was patrolling near the intersection of Dresden Green and Carmel Court.
While passing [4000 BLOCK] Carmel Court, I observed a silver Hyundai Santa Fe (GA #[REDACTED]) parked directly in front of the residence. I observed no one around the Hyundai and continued past the residence. Upon exiting the neighborhood, I drove past [4000 BLOCK] Carmel Court a second time and observed [WITNESS #1] standing next to the Hyundai waving at my patrol vehicle.
I then made contact with [WITNESS #1], who advised the Hyundai belonged to her and that she had picked up Jameel Newsom along with his brother, [WITNESS #2], and her son, [WITNESS #3]. [WITNESS #1] stated she was aware Jameel had an active arrest warrant and that Kennesaw Police was looking for him (2512-1635). [WITNESS #1] advised she and the three juveniles were sitting inside her vehicle when I first passed the residence.
[WITNESS #1] stated that when my patrol vehicle passed, Jameel asked, “Did you call the cops?” [WITNESS #1] advised Jameel waited for my patrol vehicle to pass before suddenly exiting the vehicle and running behind the residence. [WITNESS #1] stated [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #3] remained inside the Hyundai. [WITNESS #1] advised she last saw Jameel wearing a black pullover hoodie, blue jeans, and blue tennis shoes, heading toward Amberly Green.
I then requested responding officers to saturate the area in an attempt to locate Jameel.
I then spoke with [WITNESS #2] and asked where they were coming from [WITNESS #2] advised he and [WITNESS #3] had been dropped off earlier this date at approximately 1300 hours in the Cobblestone Landing neighborhood ([3000 BLOCK] Cobb Parkway) by [WITNESS #1] to meet friends. [WITNESS #2] advised that he and [WITNESS #3] ran into Jameel at the complex and that Jameel asked for a ride to [4000 BLOCK] Carmel Court. [WITNESS #2] advised [WITNESS #3] then contacted [WITNESS #1] to pick up the three.
Myself and responding officers attempted to locate Jameel at his mother, [WITNESS #4]’s residence located at [4000 BLOCK] Dresden Court. I made contact with [WITNESS #4], who advised Jameel was not welcome at the residence and that she last spoke with him via text message on 12/23/2025, advising him to turn himself in. [WITNESS #4] allowed myself and responding officers to check the residence for Jameel, which yielded negative results.
Myself and responding officers patrolled the immediate area of Jameel’s last known location but were unable to locate him.

[NARRATIVE #4 on December 25, 2025]
At approximately 0640 hours, on December 25th, 2025, I, Officer Lamb, responded to the area of [4000 BLOCK] Carmel Court, in reference to a known wanted subject banging on the window of the residence. The subject was Jameel Newsom. Newsom has the following active warrants:
- Larceny, including aggravated battery, Cobb County Sherriff’s Office. Warrant issued: May 10th, 2024. Warrant Number: 24-W-4376
- Probation Violation through Woodstock Police Department. Warrant issued: June 11th, 2024. Warrant Number: W023002570
- Fraud through Cherokee County Sherriff’s Office. Warrant issued: December 12th, 2025. Warrant Number: CE0143757
Officers canvased the area in an attempt to locate Newsom. I made contact with the manager of the Chevron located at 2091 Baker Road, [WITNESS #5]. [WITNESS #5] stated a black male matching Newsom’s description was in the store shortly before my arrival. [WITNESS #5] stated he would obtain video footage but it would take time. I then continued to canvass the area while [WITNESS #5] obtained the footage.
After officers had negative contact with Newsom, I returned to [WITNESS #5] at approximately 0710 hours. [WITNESS #5] showed me video of a male wearing black hoodie with a black male on it and blue jeans walking away from the store at 0645 hours. The male was carrying a black back from the store and walked towards the day car located on Jiles way. I then went to canvas the area.
As I approached a fenced dumpster behind the business, I looked over the concrete wall. I observed a black male wearing the same clothing in the video. Based off my knowledge, I visibly identified the male as Newsom. Due to Newsome being wanted for a forcible felony (Aggravated Battery), multiple reports and intelligence of Newsom being likely to be armed with a handgun, and his extensive history of fleeing from police, I displayed my department issued firearm and began issuing verbal commands to Newsom. Newsom complied and was detained in handcuffs once other officers arrived. I requested dispatch to confirm the various warrants. I canvassed the area and businesses behind Chevron when I located the black bag with food items Newsom was seen leaving the Chevron with. The warrants would be confirmed and Newsom was placed under arrest.
Newsom was searched incident to arrest for contraband with negative results. Newsom was placed in the passenger compartment of my patrol vehicle and seat belted for safety. I then transported Newsom to Cobb County Jail where he was turned over to detention staff without incident.
-(2) Videos were sent to CID for evidence.

The complainant then overserved Jameel through her bathroom window walking away from her residence in between neighbors houses. She called 911 as soon as she saw him Officers eventually located Jameel behind a dumpster, and his warrants were confirmed. The complainant was notified he was now in custody.
