On the above date, at approximately 2310 hours, I, Officer Perkerson, was dispatched to [1300 BLOCK] Dukes Creek Dr in reference to an assault. While enroute, dispatch advised the caller, later identified as [VICTIM #1], had been hit in the head with a liquor bottle by his girlfriend later identified as Kalynn Long.

Upon arrival, I spoke with [VICTIM #1] while officers spoke with Kalynn. [VICTIM #1] stated he and Kalynn had been drinking for some time and Kalynn had fallen asleep. [VICTIM #1] stated he had become uncomfortable with Kalynn’s relationship with her male best friend. [VICTIM #1] stated that while Kalynn was sleeping, he went through her phone. [VICTIM #1] stated he found a conversation where the friend was telling Kalynn that she should break up with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] also stated he found nude photos of another male sent to Kalynn.

[VICTIM #1] stated he became irritated and picked up Wild Turkey liquor bottle and poured the last of the liquor on Kalynn and began telling her to a wake up. [VICTIM #1] stated that Kalynn woke up, snatched the bottle from his hands, and hit him in the head with the bottle, cutting his head open. [VICTIM #1] stated he did not strike Kalynn back and he exited the bedroom to the bathroom and tried to control the bleeding. While speaking with [VICTIM #1], I observed a knot on his forehead along with a bleeding laceration.

I spoke with Kalynn and when I asked her what happened, Kalynn stated she had been drinking all day and could not remember. While speaking with Kalynn, I observed her face to have scratches. Officer Jenks spoke with Kalynn while I was speaking with [VICTIM #1] and Officer Jenks advised that Kalynn stated she and [VICTIM #1] had an altercation involving blood. Officer Jenks asked Kalynn if the altercation was how she got the scratches and [VICTIM #1] got the knot. Kalynn stated it was.

While speaking with Kalynn inside the residence, I observed a blood trail from the bedroom to the bathroom and down the steps. Also in the bedroom, I observed the empty Wild Turkey bottle on the floor beside the bed, along with spilled potted plants, indicating there was a struggle. I seized the Wild Turkey Bottle for evidence.

I spoke with [VICTIM #1] again and asked how Kalynn received the scratches on her face. [VICTIM #1] stated he did not know. I asked [VICTIM #1] if he would like to prosecute and he stated he did not.

Due to the totality of the circumstances, I placed Kalynn under arrest. I placed Kalynn in handcuffs, checked them for fit, and ensured they were double locked. Officer Jenks searched Kalynn’ s person incident to arrest. No weapons or contraband were located. I escorted Kalynn to my patrol vehicle, placed her in the rear right side, and secured her seatbelt.

I transported Kalynn to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center and turned her over without incident.

I returned to the Kennesaw Police Department, where I applied for and was granted warrant 25-W-10585 signed by Judge Tollison for the charge of Aggravated Assault.

I packaged, sealed, and submitted the Wild Turkey bottle for evidence.

I searched my passenger compartment before and after the transport. No contraband or weapons were located.
