[NARRATIVE #1 on December 27, 2025]

On 12/27/2025 at 1515 hours, I Officer Krohn was dispatched to 1000 McCollum Parkway, Sparkles parking lot in reference to an active domestic dispute. Dispatch advised multiple callers were stating a male subject was running from a car with a child. I was advised a female was chasing after the male subject screaming. Dispatch stated a vehicle was left in the roadway impeding the flow of traffic.

Upon my arrival I saw multiple people in the parking lot of Sparkles attempting to flag me down and pointing at a black male who was walking away from the area. I was also directed towards a mother cradling a two month old child walking towards my police car.

I made contact with the mother and child while back up officers gave chase after the male subject was fleeing the incident location. I was advised by the mother, [VICTIM #1], that her son, [VICTIM #2], might be injured and needed an ambulance. I requested an ambulance.

While speaking to [VICTIM #1], Officers advised they had located the male subject on the opposite side of Cobb Parkway walking in the direction of Cobb International Blvd.

I asked [VICTIM #1] what happened and she stated her and her boyfriend, Myles Hurst, were in a verbal argument. [VICTIM #1] stated the argument became so volatile the vehicle they were in came to a complete stop on the highway. [VICTIM #1] stated Myles exited the car in rush hour traffic and began to remove the child from the vehicle. [VICTIM #1] stated she told him to leave the child multiple times but he refused to comply.

[VICTIM #1] stated Myles took the child in his car seat and started walking away from the vehicle. [VICTIM #1] advised she screamed at Myles to leave the child but he again refused to comply. [VICTIM #1] stated she started running after Myles. [VICTIM #1] advised Myles began to sprint away from her towards Sparkles with the child. [VICTIM #1] then advised Myles fell with the child. The child was in the car seat but she stated Myles lost control of the child and he rolled. [VICTIM #1] stated people then attempted to intervene so Myles left the child.

While speaking to [VICTIM #1] I noticed a red 6 inch mark on her left forearm. I asked [VICTIM #1] how she received the mark and she stated she did not know but she bruised easily. I asked [VICTIM #1] if the dispute became physical and she hesitated before she said “no”. I documented the mark on my department issued body camera. I asked [VICTIM #1] if Myles was on the birth certificate of the child and she stated “no”. I asked if the child was his and she stated “yes”. I asked if Myles was legitimized by the State of Georgia since they had the child out of wedlock and she stated “no”. I attempted to ask further questions but she became uncooperative.

I made contact with witnesses [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2]. Both witnesses stated they saw Myles running away from the vehicle and [VICTIM #1] chasing after him screaming. [WITNESS #1] advised he saw Myles fall while he was running away from [VICTIM #1] with the child. [WITNESS #1] stated the child rolled two times while in his car seat. [WITNESS #1] advised he worried the child was being kidnapped and was injured.

[WITNESS #2] stated he was behind the car when it stopped in the middle of the roadway and saw Myles take the child from the vehicle away from his mother. [WITNESS #2] stated he witnessed Myles runway from the car with [VICTIM #1] screaming behind him. Both witnesses were able to identify both subjects involved in the altercation.

Metro EMS arrived on scene and began medical treatment on [VICTIM #2]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised the child had [REDACTED BY AGENCY] of his head and should receive further medical examination at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] due to his extremely young age.

I made contact with Myles on the other side of the roadway were he was located. Myles advised she was involved in a verbal dispute with the mother of his child. Myles advised during the argument the vehicle was stopped in the middle of the roadway. Myles stated he did not wish to wake up the child so he attempted to remove the child from the car. Myles stated he started walking away with the child.

Myles advised [VICTIM #1] was screaming and cussing at him and started running towards him. Myles advised he decided to run away from [VICTIM #1] because he didn’t want her to wake up the child with her screaming. Myles advised he fell but the baby did not roll. Myles showed me multiple superficial scratched on his body from the fall. Myles stated he left the scene of the incident because he wanted to escape [VICTIM #1]’s yelling.

I asked Myles if he was ever legitimized as the father of the child in the state of Georgia. Myles stated he never petitioned the state for legitimacy. Myles advised he believed he was however on the birth certificate of [VICTIM #2].

I placed Myles under arrest. I placed Myles in handcuffs behind the back, double locked and checked for fit. Myles was searched and placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle. Myles was turned over to PSA James for transport to Cobb ADC.

[VICTIM #1] and the child initially were going to be transported to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #1] then refused to seek medical treatment for her child and left the scene in her car.

I applied for and was granted a warrant (25-W-10925) by Magistrate Judge Natalie Ward for charges of:

16-5-70(c) Cruelty to Child 2nd Degree (F)
16-5-40 Attempted Kidnapping (F)

I contacted Georgia DFACS and filed a report with Agent [REDACTED].

All documentation was placed in the squad folder for processing.

[NARRATIVE #2 on December 27, 2025]

On 12/27/2025 at approximately 1555 hours, I, P.S.A James was dispatched to 1000 McCollum Pkwy NW to transport Myles Hurst.

Upon arrival, I took custody of Hurst and his belongings. He was handcuffed behind his back, checked for proper fit, and double locked for safety. I searched him for weapons and contraband. I had negative results.

He was escorted to the transport van and placed on the left side, and the door was secured. He was not seat belted due to there not being seat belts in the back of the transport van.

I transported him to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. He was turned over to jail staff without any incident, and with all necessary paperwork.

I conducted a search of the passenger compartment prior to and after the transport of Hurst to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. No contraband was located during either search.
