On Tuesday 12-16-2025 I, Dep. Autrey was traveling Eastbound on Lower Meigs Rd nearing Long Leaf Dr. I was behind a white in color Ford F-150 (GA TAG [REDACTED]). While behind this vehicle, I observed it cross the center line multiple times, and drive into oncoming traffic twice, almost causing two head on collisions with other vehicles traveling Westbound on Lower Meigs. One vehicle had to get completely off of the road and into the ditch to avoid a collision.
I made contact with the driver, Brody Adams via traffic stop by activating my emergency equipment. I approached the driver side door and observed brody staring straight forward. As he turned to look at me, his eyes were bloodshot and glossy. I then explained to him the reason for the stop. While speaking with him, Adam’s speech was slurred. I could also smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside of the vehicle. I asked him how much he had to drink and he stated he had four beers before driving. He then also stated he was underage. When I asked him how old he was, he stated “underage”. I then asked him again and he told me he was 18 years old.
I then had him exit the vehicle. I placed him in handcuffs and explained to him that he was under arrest for driving under the influence. I walked him to the front of my car, still speaking with him and I could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. I then placed him in the backseat of my patrol car. I then went back to the vehicle and began to search the vehicle for any intoxicants, not finding any. I did observed three firearms in the vehicle.
I then went back to my car and asked him if he would like for me to call his parents and he said yes. I retrieved his phone from the truck and called his parents. I explained the situation to them. Both his parents responded to the scene and took possession of the vehicle and firearms that were inside. I then went back to my vehicle and read Adam’s the Georgia Implied Consent Notice for Suspects Under Age 21 for Breath to which he refused.
Adams was transported to the Colquitt County Jail and booked in on his charges. He received four Uniform Traffic Citations for his charges as well.
