COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. – On January 10, 2024, a Columbia County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a Ronald Reagan Drive residence to investigate a theft by extortion. The victim said that a person on Instagram demanded ransom money from him for nude photos.

He explained that on January 8, 2024, he received a message on Instagram from a stranger, @_chloe.ella.e, stating, “Hey.” He “didn’t think much of it and started having a conversation with who he believes is Chloe.”

“Chloe” requested naked photos of him, and he “sent two nude photos of his private parts.” “Chloe” then “demanded a ransom of $600 to delete the conversation and the photos or [they] would be sent out to his wife, family, friends, and coworkers.”

On January 9, 2024, he used CashApp to send “Chloe” $600; however, he “kept receiving harassing messages demanding more ransom money. On January 10, 2024, “Chloe” demanded another $500 “to delete the photos or else,” so he sent $500 in Apple gift cards.

The victim told the deputy he wished to prosecute. He provided the conversations between him and “Chloe” for evidence.

This case is pending.
