On 09/01/2025 at 0015 I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Jefferson Pkwy [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to an Assist Fire/EMS for an apparent knife wound. When I arrived I made contact with the Offender(Ayona Owens).

Owens stated her friend, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], wanted to pick up his friend [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and come back to his residence. During the ride to his residence Owens stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was acting crazy and arguing with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] the entire time. When they went inside [REDACTED BY AGENCY]s residence [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] contintued to argue, at which point [REDACTED BY AGENCY] grabbed a knife and cut [REDACTED BY AGENCY] hand. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was not on scene, and so Sgt. Wilcox Ofc. Townsend left to locate him.

I asked where [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was, and Owens stated she was still in the apartment. Owens escorted me to the apartment. While walking with Owens I noticed she had been drinking an alcoholic beverage from a glass bottle. Owens had slurred speech and stumbled at times when she walked, and I could smell liquor on her breathe, indicating she may have been intoxicated. As we approached the door, Owens knocked and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] answered the door.

Owens immediately became confrontational with [REDACTED BY AGENCY], screaming at her and threating to beat her up. I attempted to calm Owens down when she reared back with the glass bottle she was carrying as if to hit [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with it. I attempted to detain Owens, but she physically resisted and pulled away as I tried to do so. Eventually I would successfully handcuff Owens, placing both hands behind her back and checking from proper fit. I then placed Owens in the back of my patrol car, searching the backseat before doing so. After placing Owens in the car, I went back to the apartment to speak to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she was the one to call 911 about [REDACTED BY AGENCY] injury. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] took Owens and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to a gas station and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] realized he had forgotten his wallet. In anger, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] punched an unknown glass object, shattering the glass and causing a large cut on his hand. They would all return to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]’s residence, where [REDACTED BY AGENCY]tried to convince [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that he needed to go to the hospital. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] refused and left the apartment complex. While in the apartment, I saw no sign of a struggle, nor any knife that may have caused injury. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] would later be located by Sgt. Wilcox and Ofc. Townsend. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] refused medical transport to the hospital.

I then transported Owens to the Coweta County Jail. While at the jail, a Taurus 9mm pistol was found in a small bag that she had been carrying(Serial Number AGH317166). NPD dispatch ran the serial number and found no record on the pistol. The pistol was taken back to NPD and submitted to evidence for safekeeping.
