On 05/25/2026, I (Ofc M Smith) responded to 1025 Bullsboro Dr, Newnan, GA 30265 (Walmart) in reference to a hit and run vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, I was advised that a Ram 2500 struck a Honda Civic in the parking lot at the location before leaving the scene. [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

On 05/26/2026, I was conducting patrols in the area of Bullsboro Dr near the intersection of Farmer St, Newnan when I observed a vehicle matching the above listed description. I got behind the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lagrange St at Spring St and made contact with the driver, identified as Banesa Sanchez, and notified her of the reason for the stop. I asked Sanchez who regularly drives the vehicle and she advised that she and another male do. I asked Sanchez if she was driving the vehicle on 05/25/2026 when it was in the Walmart parking lot and she advised that she was. I advised Sanchez that I checked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] she advised that she was unaware that she struck another vehicle.

Sanchez was placed in handcuffs that were behind her back and double locked after checking fit. I advised Sanchez that she was being arrested for Hit and Run – Duty to Report and placed her in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle with her safety belt fastened. Sanchez was transported to Coweta County Jail where she was turned over to booking officers. The rear seat of my patrol vehicle was checked before and after transport and found to be free of any contraband.
