On 01-01-2026 at approximately 1053 hours, I Cpl. Phillips was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Lynn Circle in reference to a family dispute. Per 911 the caller stated that her 41 year old [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was yelling and cursing at her and refusing to leave.
Upon my arrival I made contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who was later identified as Brandon Bugg. I asked Mr. Bugg what was going on and he told me that they were arguing. I asked him what they were arguing about, and he told me that he did not know because he did not call 911. While trying to speak to him about the situation he kept attempting to walk away from me into the kitchen. I followed behind him and told him that he could not leave due to him being detained while I investigated the call.
Mr. Bugg then turned around and got in my face looking me up and down as if he wanted to argue. I then asked him to identify himself and at first he refused. After being asked several times, he gave me his name, but not his birthday. When I told him he had to identify himself due to him being detained, he told me that he was not going to give me the info I requested because he was not being detained. I then asked him one more time and he once again told me no. I then grabbed Mr. Bugg’s arm in a attempt to arrest him for hindering my investigation.
As I grabbed Mr. Bugg, he tensed up and began pulling away from me. I wrapped my arms around his body in attempt to detain him and he began trying to push me off of him. Lt. White then drive stunned Mr. Bogg with his department issued taser. The taser did not gain compliance. I then kicked Mr. Bugg’s leg out from under him and layed him onto the ground. Once on the ground another drive stun was given by Lt. White. The taser once again did not gain compliance. As I was on top of Mr. Bugg he contined to try to get up and move me off of him, I struck Mr. Bugg in the right side of his torso with a closed fist twice. On the second strike compliance was gained, and Mr. Bugg placed his hands behind his back.
I was then able to place him into handcuffs double locked with the tighness checked. I then stood him up and handed him off to Ofc. Wilbur to be transported to the Coweta County jail. While Ofc. Wilbur transported, I stayed behind to talk to the [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who was identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told me that he was yelling and cursing at her so she went to her room to get away from him. I then went to the Coweta County jail to take charges.
Mr. Bugg was charged with obstruction and disorderly conduct.
