On February 6, 2026, at approximately 1300 hours, I, Det. Z. DeBisschop met with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] the victim, of a battery, at Newnan Police Department, which occurred at [400 BLOCK] Jefferson St. Newnan, GA., Jefferson Grove Apartments.

Upon making contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] I saw she had a swollen and bloody lip, a tooth that had been broken off about half way up the tooth, and her left eye had bruising and swelling. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also seemed to be in a great deal of pain as she kept closing her eyes or squinting, and making noises as if she was feeling pain.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she had been beaten up by [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Carlos Ford, a short time before coming to the police department. She stated that he had gotten mad over things he found in her phone such as her talking to other men. She said she was taking him to a job interview when he insisted on seeing her phone. When she gave him the phone and saw messages which said things like “good morning” and “happy birthday” he would get more and more mad until he hit her in the face while she was driving. She said she then was told she need to go into her house so they could talk or he would beat her in the car. She stated that due to past experiences with him she did what she was told because if she argued with him it would be worse for her.

She continued that once she was in the house Ford stated hitting her in the face and back of the head until she almost lost conciseness. She stated that he punched her in the back of the head and she fell hitting her head of the cabinet door handle. She also stated that after being hit in the back of the head she saw spots and felt like she was about to pass out. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] later said that at one point Ford was holding a knife to her leg and side saying he “should just end it all”.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] informed me that Ford does not have access to the apartment and does not live there. She said he had no items of his own there. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then gave consent to search her apartment for evidence of the crime and provided me with her key.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] condition appeared to worsen as the interview continued and she complained of severe head pain. EMS responded to the police department and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] refused transport but stated that a friend, who was with her, would bring her after the interview. I ended the interview early with just basic information out of concern for her medical condition.
