I Deputy McBrier was Dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Hyde Circle in reference to a Motor Vehicle Hijacking. Before getting dispatched to this call I was enroute to the area due to an I Phone crash notification.

While enroute to the scene a Newnan Police Department Officer said over the radio there was a Nissan Rogue headed South on Highway 70. They said it had a tag number of [REDACTED].

When I arrived on scene I spoke to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [WITNESS #1]. I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] what happened. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that she was cleaning [100 BLOCK] Hyde Circle and was finishing up. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told me she was in the driveway and was putting her cleaning supplies in the vehicle. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that she had put her stuff in the vehicle when two black males approached her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that one of the black males was wearing a black hoodie and his face was covered. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that both of the males had black handguns that were out and pointed at her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that the males were saying “Move, Move out of the way, Move out of the vehicle”. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that the males got in the Nissan and went to drive off. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that she asked them to stop and give her phone.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] then walked over to [100 BLOCK] Hyde Circle and knocked on the door. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] asked to use [WITNESS #1]’s phone the neighbor at [100 BLOCK] Hyde Circle. [WITNESS #1] then called 911 and reported it for [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I asked [WITNESS #1] if he heard or saw anything. [WITNESS #1] said that he just heard the car start up and drive away and there was nothing he thought was suspicious about it.

While talking with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] I asked her if she was the owner of the vehicle. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that her daughter [REDACTED] was the owner. I then went back to my car and saw that the Registered Owner of tag number [REDACTED] was [REDACTED]. I then went over the radio and said that the vehicle we were looking for was the [REDACTED] an Orange in color Nissan Rogue. Shortly after Deputy Thomson said that he had eyes on the Nissan Rogue and he was going to stop it. The Nissan Rogue then tried to evade him causing a Vehicle Pursuit.

I then put crime scene tape over where [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the Nissan was at when she had a gun pointed at her and the vehicle taken from her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] pointed to the top of the driveway of [100 BLOCK] Hyde Circle. I then turned the scene over to Investigator Casey Mullis and Investigator Stephen Nash.

I was not able to add Aggravated Assault due to IBR errors saying it was a lesser offense to Motor Vehicle Hijacking in the 1st Degree.
