On 10/12/2025, at approximately 1540 hours, I was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to check an accidental 911 hang up call. Dispatched advised that the owner of the phone, later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said the phone was damaged and that everything was okay.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a male, later identified as David Castile. David identified that he knew I was there because of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] phone accidentally calling 911. David further advised that everything was okay. I asked David if he could get [REDACTED BY AGENCY] so I could speak with her and ensure everything was okay. David was cordial and assisted in getting [REDACTED BY AGENCY] for me. David went through the front door of the house. I followed David to the top of the front porch steps where I waited for [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
As I waited, I saw the front door was a door with large glass panes similar to a storm door. It permitted me to see to the back of the house from where I stood. While looking through the door, I saw [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and David start talking with each other. I could not hear what was said, but their body language suggested they were tense. I also suspected that they were trying to keep their voices inaudible. I noticed that David was a normally loud speaker from when I first arrived on scene. The distance that I was from him should have permitted me to at least hear his voice even if I could not understand what was due to the s door being closed. However, I could not hear any talking. I suspected their conversation was a disagreement.
After some time, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and David exited the house through the front door. David went down to the vehicles in the driveway and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] spoke with me on the porch that was elevated approximately 10 feet. I saw [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was crying, had a green shirt with blood on it, was using the shirt to favor her left forearm that had a laceration down it, and was wearing an oversized button up long sleeve shirt that appeared to have been hastily put on.
I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] what happened. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that she was at the house to help David clean. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] further stated that she and David got into an argument because David was “disrespected”. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] described the disrespect as David telling [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that she needed start doing what she was told and know her place as a woman. According to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] David commanded her to do things and she confronted him about how he spoke to her. I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] how she cut her arm. She advised she cut it while moving something.
I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if she and David were in a relationship. She advised they were not and only friends. I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if she and David ever lived together. She advised they had not.
During my conversation with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] I requested an additional unit so I could further investigate.
I spoke with David after speaking with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. David was removing things from a truck into another truck. David appeared frustrated and seemed to want to avoid me. I asked David what happened between him and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. He advised that they had an exchange of words but would not elaborate. I asked him if they were boyfriend and girlfriend. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised not anymore. As he responded, David began walking back towards the house. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was still sitting at the top step.
I told David that he was not going to the house and I directed him back towards the truck I spoke with him at. David turned around and yelled that he did not want to talk to me. I told him that was fine but he was going to stand at the truck. David began walking back to the truck. After a few steps, he redirected and began walking back to the house. I attempted to redirect David to go the truck but he told me it was his private property.
I recognized this as defiance to my lawful order of telling him where to be so I could further investigate the dispute between him and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I told David to turn around and put his hands behind his back. David did not immediately turn around. I could tell he was mad and anticipated him to try and fight because of how aggressive he became. I drew my taser and pointed it at him. I told David he was under arrest and to turn around and put his hands behind his back. David followed the order.
I placed David’s wrists into hand cuffs. Before I could double-lock them, he began aggressively stepping forward trying to control me. David was 6’2″ and weighed 230 pounds. I was 5’11” and weighed 185 pounds. I grabbed the middle of the handcuffs of the handcuffs to gain control of David and slow him down. He began trying to quickly turn and yelling that I was hurting his wrists. I understood his quick turns to be attempts for me to lose control. To gain further control of David, I pinned him into the front of the truck. There, David calmed down enough so I could double-lock the handcuffs.
Once they were double-locked, I escorted David to my patrol car. As we got to my patrol vehicle, David attempted to walk past my patrol vehicle. Simultaneously, DS Menet arrived on scene and parked behind my patrol car. I grabbed David’s right arm to keep him from walking past it. He became violent and turned around facing myself and DS Menet while yelling at us. We both pinned him against the side of my patrol vehicle. I opened the rear passenger door and we placed David into the back seat.
As David was placed into the vehicle, I was advised by dispatch that David had a No-Contact Order with [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
I returned to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to investigate hers and David’s relationship further and what started the argument. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] maintained that the argument was because of disrespect and that she did not know her place as a woman. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also maintained that she and David were only friends and spend the weekends at each other’s houses. I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if she had a toothbrush at David’s residence. She advised she did not. I asked her if he had a toothbrush at her residence on [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that David did not.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] also asked repeatedly that I not arrest David. She mentioned that was worried about his mother and seemed legitimately scared after I told her David was not being released. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] did not want to have David prosecuted.
While speaking [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Lt. Mills arrived on scene, spoke with David, and informed me of what happened. Lt. Mills explained to me that he asked David about the argument and the cut on [REDACTED BY AGENCY] arm. Lt. Mills said that David admitted to accidentally hitting [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the forearm with a cup that cut her.
During my investigation, I learned of no facts that indicated this incident violated the Family Violence Act. However, due to David admitting that he and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were in a relationship and that he accidentally cut [REDACTED BY AGENCY] forearm, I determined Dating Violence applied to this incident.
I arrested and charged David with the following:
Obstruction: 16-10-24- for willfully not following my lawful orders of where to be so I could investigate the incident.
Disorderly Conduct: 16-11-39 – for acting in a violent and tumultuous manner to a degree that resulted in [REDACTED BY AGENCY] received bodily injury.
After taking David to the Coweta County Jail, I read the No Contact Order. The first appearance date on the order was 7/13/2025 and was for Criminal Trespass – Damage. It had three orders from Judge Taylor.
1) Stay away from [REDACTED BY AGENCY]
2) No contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]
3) Can get LEO escort to get personal belongings
I also charged David with Violation of Dating Violence Order: 16-5-95 for violating dating violence order when he knowingly and in a nonviolent manner violated the terms of such order issued against him, which restricted David from having any contact except as specified in such order by having [REDACTED BY AGENCY] go to his house to help him clean.
