On 4/27/2026 I responded to Hemricks Gas Station located at 10 Franklin Rd Newnan,GA in reference to a Criminal Trespass call. Prior to arrival, 911 advised a black male wearing a yellow shirt and black pants was harassing customers and also inappropriately made physical contact with a customer by touching her buttocks and wanted him criminally trespassed from the store. Responding Newnan officers observed the described suspect at the Exxon (2 Franklin Rd) where he was detained pending further investigation.
On arrival, the suspect identified as Devonte Jordan was transported back to the incident location and I met with victim [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who stated she exited the bathroom area located inside of Hemrick’s and observed Jordan loitering in the hallway which made her uneasy. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she proceeded to the front of the store [REDACTED BY AGENCY] when she felt someone make contact with her buttock and immediately turned to see Jordan walking by her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY]
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] Jordan was placed under arrest for Sexual Battery 16-6-22.1 (m) and issued a Criminal Trespass Warning not to return to Hemrick’s [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Jordan was handcuffed to the rear (double locked & checked for fit) , checked for contraband and placed in my patrol vehicle where he was seat belted in for safety and transported to the Coweta County Jail where he was searched again and released to Jail Staff. The rear seat of my patrol vehicle was searched prior to and after transport.
