On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at approximately 0838 hours, I, Ofc. Burston was dispatched to 745 Popular Road, Newnan, GA [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to a stabbing.

Upon my arrival, I entered the hospital and went into [REDACTED BY AGENCY] where the victim was located. Upon entering, I was able to observe the victim (later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY]) lying on a hospital bed getting his wounds wrapped up. The victim’s mother (who was later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY]) was also in the room and began to tell me what happened.

She stated that at approximately 0745 hours this morning, she was leaving her house to go to work. She informed me that when she walked around the corner, her son’s friend, whom she had told me “comes over all the time,” was standing there, getting ready to close the garage, and she informed him that her son, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was inside. She identified the friend as Gerald Magby. She then stated that he began to close the garage, and she got into her vehicle and drove to work.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] then told me that at approximately 08:04 hours, she received a phone call from her son, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], asking her to take him to the hospital because he had been stabbed. She then informed me she went home to take him to the hospital, and when she arrived, he was bleeding from the stab wounds, so they used towels to put over it and took him to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She informed me that her son told her Gerald came over to fight him, walked in, and pushed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] attempted to hit him, and missed. She then told me [REDACTED BY AGENCY] punched Gerald in the face twice, and it made Gerald stumble. Gerald then pulled out a knife and stabbed [REDACTED BY AGENCY]

[SECTION REDACTED BY AGENCY]

After leaving the hospital, I went to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Belmont Park Drive and conducted a protective sweep on the suspect’s house for the Detectives who had obtained a search warrant. I then started and maintained a Crime Scene log while Detectives executed the search warrant.

This incident is related to event ID # 2025-300633 where officers responded to the area of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Trotter Ct at 0752 hours this date, where a citizen reported seeing “two young b/m walking down the sidewalk one had blood on his back they had on boxers. caller heard yelling. doesnt see them now saw about 5 min ago” per the call screen notes.
