On December 25, 2025, I, DS Broach, responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to a report of aggravated assault. 911 advised the caller, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] reported that her husband, Gregory Coleman, who suffers from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] jumped on her and choked her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised she had escaped from Gregory and was sitting in her vehicle outside the residence.

Upon arrival, I made contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who was seated in her vehicle outside the residence. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised Gregory was inside the residence and did not have access to any weapons. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she had been in a room next to the bedroom reading her Bible while Gregory was in their bedroom watching television at a loud volume. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that after she finished reading, she went into the bedroom and turned the television down, which caused Gregory to become very irate. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Gregory got out of bed and began getting in her face.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised she pushed Gregory back, but he continued to get in her face and threatened to kill her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she pushed him back a second time, which caused Gregory to become even more upset. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised Gregory then grabbed her and pushed her against the bedroom closet. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she attempted to push him back again, during which her fingernails scratched Gregory on the right and left sides of his neck.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised Gregory then threw her onto the bed and climbed on top of her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Gregory placed his hands around her throat and began choking her while stating, “You don’t belong here. I’m going to kill you.” [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised she did not lose consciousness but did experience restricted airflow. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she attempted to push Gregory off again, at which time he bit her left thumb. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] left thumb was bleeding and had visible teeth marks that broke the skin.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised she was unable to get away from Gregory and began yelling for her mother, [WITNESS #1], who was in the adjacent room preparing for bed. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated [WITNESS #1] entered the bedroom and began pleading with Gregory to release her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised Gregory then released her, at which time she exited the residence and contacted her daughter and 911. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] declined EMS response.

I made contact with Gregory Coleman at the front door of the residence. Gregory asked what was going on. After advising Gregory of the reason for my presence, he stated that he and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had gotten into an argument “over nothing.” When asked if the argument became physical, Gregory stated it did not and advised I should ask his mother-in-law, [WITNESS #1], who he said witnessed the incident.

Gregory invited me into the residence and walked toward [WITNESS #1]’s bedroom. Gregory asked [WITNESS #1] to step out and speak with me regarding the incident. [WITNESS #1] stepped out of her room and advised she observed Gregory on top of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] choking her.

Gregory Coleman was placed under arrest and secured in the rear of my marked patrol vehicle. [WITNESS #1] was unable to complete a written witness statement due to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. A case number was issued, and a Victim Bill of Rights pamphlet was provided to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also completed a victim notification form.

Gregory Coleman was transported to the Coweta County Jail and turned over to detention staff.
