On 4 July 2026, at approximately 0129 hours, I, Ofc. Manning, observed a vehicle failing to maintain lane on East Broad Street.

I conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Jeanette Cudworth. Jeanette had bloodshot, watery eyes and emitted the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage from her breath and/or body. I asked Jeanette if she would be willing to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) to determine if she was safe to operate a motor vehicle. Jeanette agreed.

Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN): Before administering the test, I asked Jeanette if she had any medical conditions. She stated she had [REDACTED BY AGENCY] but nothing affecting her head, legs, or arms that would hinder her ability to complete the test. She stated she was wearing soft contact lenses. When asked if she had nystagmus, she stated she did not know what that was and had never been told she had it.

Jeanette displayed lack of smooth pursuit in both eyes on four passes, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation on four passes, and onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees on four passes.

Walk and Turn: Jeanette appeared unsure of her balance and even asked if she could perform the test barefoot. During the test, Jeanette did not keep her hands by her sides, stopped walking, failed to maintain heel-to-toe contact, lost her balance, made an incorrect turn, and took an incorrect number of steps.

One Leg Stand: Jeanette swayed, used her arms for balance, and put her foot down. During all tests, Jeanette stated she was nervous. She said [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was moving to Florida and she had “a couple small drinks” while spending time with him before he left. She repeatedly stated, “I’m just nervous.”

SFST results were as follows:

HGN: 6 out of 6 clues
Walk and Turn: 7 out of 8 clues
One Leg Stand: 3 out of 4 clues

Jeanette admitted to consuming alcohol and stated she was not going to fight being charged with Driving Under the Influence.

Jeanette was placed in handcuffs behind her back. The handcuffs were double-locked and checked for proper fit. Jeanette was searched before and after transport, with no contraband or items on her person. She was placed in the back seat of my previously searched patrol vehicle. I read Georgia Implied Consent for suspects age 21 and over, and Jeanette agreed to provide a breath sample. Her seat belt was secured, and she was transported to the Coweta County Jail for further processing.

Jeanette was tested on the Intoxilyzer 9000, serial number 90-001537, by Ofc. Tarbunas, N., operator #958044. Jeanette provided two breath samples, both showing a BAC of 0.113.

Jeanette’s driver’s license was confiscated, and a DDS-1205 Form was issued for having a BAC above 0.08 grams. She was provided a 45-day temporary driving permit.

Jeanette’s vehicle was turned over to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] which had a valid GA driver’s licenses and was not under the influence of alcohol.
