On 01/21/2026 I MPO. Mitchell while assigned as a SRO to Newnan High School 190 LaGrange St, Newnan GA 30263 at approximately 1600 hours, I was notified by Assistant Principal Ellis of a physical altercation involving juveniles from Newnan High School that occurred off campus.

While directing traffic at 1530 hours in the intersection of LaGrange Street and Boone Drive, I observed a group of juveniles [REDACTED BY AGENCY] cross LaGrange Street and cut through a private individuals yard toward Boone Drive. [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

I requested that [JUVENILE #1] be sent to my office from class. Upon her arrival, I advised [JUVENILE #1] of the reason she was called to my office. I activated my body-worn camera (BWC) and advised [JUVENILE #1] of her Miranda rights. [JUVENILE #1] stated she understood her rights and agreed to speak with me regarding the altercation.

I then requested that [JUVENILE #2] be sent to my office from class and advised her of the reason she was called to my office. I advised [JUVENILE #2] of her Miranda rights, which she stated she understood and agreed to speak with me regarding the fight on Boone Dr.

I asked [JUVENILE #2] about the altercation involving [JUVENILE #1] and Mr. Henderson. [JUVENILE #2] stated that the altercation occurred after [JUVENILE #1] struck Mr. Henderson in the face while inside a vehicle, [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

I requested that Jeric Henderson be sent to my office and advised him of the reason he was called to my office. I advised Mr. Henderson of his Miranda rights, which he stated he understood and agreed to speak with me regarding the altercation.

Mr. Henderson stated that he and [JUVENILE #1] are friends and were just playing around, advising that there was nothing more to the interaction and that no one was injured. I asked Mr. Henderson about the altercation on Boone Dr. Mr. Henderson stated that [JUVENILE #1] and [JUVENILE #2] had been texting and were having issues, which led them to decide to fight after school, and that they did fight.

I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and explained the situation, advising her of the incident and that I had spoken with her daughter regarding this matter. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was advised that a juvenile complaint would be completed and forwarded to the Coweta County Juvenile Justice Center for disorderly conduct.

I also spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was advised of the incident that occurred on Boone Dr. and informed that a juvenile complaint would be completed on her daughter and the other juvenile involved. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was further advised that charges would be pursued against the adult male involved.

[JUVENILE #1] and [JUVENILE #2] will be charged by juvenile complaint OCGA 216-11-39 Disorderly Conduct and turned over to Coweta County juvenile Justice Center.

J. Henderson will be charged with OCGA 16-11-39 Disorderly Conduct and a warrant will be taken out at a later date.
